Cláudia Seabra is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Arts & Humanities (FLUC) in the University of Coimbra (UC) since September 2018. She was a Professor of Polytechnic Education in the area of Tourism, since March 2001, at the Higher School of Technology and Management (ESTGV) of the Polytechnic Institute of Viseu (IPV).
Claudia Seabra has a Post-PhD in Economic and Social Geography from the Nova School of Business and Economics, having developed the project “Influence of Terrorism on citizens and organizations in Europe of 28” with a research grant from the Foundation for Science and Technology. She holds a PhD in Tourism from the University of Aveiro since 2010, a Master in Social Sciences from ISCTE since 2004 and a degree in Social Communication since 2000 from the Polytechnic Institute of Viseu.
She published several papers in international scientific journals indexed in SCOPUS such as: Annals of Tourism Research, Journal of Business Research (2), Tourism Management (2), International Journal of Tourism Cities (2), European Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Management, European Journal of Tourism Research, ANATOLIA, Portuguese Marketing Review, Media & Jornalismo, International Journal of Religious Tourism and Pilgrimage, Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Technology, Procedia-Social and Behavioral Sciences. She also has other publications in international scientific journals with peer review, not indexed such as: Journal of Tourism Research & Hospitality (3), Journal of Tourism and Development (11), International Journal of Multidisciplinarity in Business and Science (2), Cadernos de Geografia and European Journal of Applied Business Management. He also published several chapters in scientific books: Marketing Innovations for Sustainable Destinations; Tourism Research: An Interdisciplinary Perspective; Routledge Handbook of Tourism Cities; Management of World Heritage Sites: Cultural Landscapes and Sustainability; and Experiential Consumption and Marketing in Tourism: A cross-cultural context. She is the head editor of the book International Tourism and Health Risks: Impacts of Epidemics and Virus Outbreaks in the XXI century, Book Series: Tourism Security Safety And Post Conflict Destinations of Emerald Group Publishing, with publication scheduled for March 2021.
She has presented papers at dozens of international scientific conferences since 2004. She is a member of the Editorial Board of the following scientific journals: Journal of Tourism Research & Hospitality and International Journal of Multidisciplinarity in Science and Business. She is Theme Editor on Terrorism at the International Journal of Tourism Cities. She is a guest reviewer for several international scientific journals such as: Tourism Management, Annals of Tourism Research, International Journal of Tourism Cities, Tourism Management Perspectives, Turizam & Geographica Pannonica, Portuguese Marketing Journal, Tourism & Development Magazine, Journal of Air Transport Management, International Journal of Tourism Cities, Defense and Peace Economics, Journal of Customer Behavior, ANATOLIA - An International Journal of Tourism and Hospitality Research, Current Issues in Tourism, Eurasian Business Review, Fudan Journal of the Humanities and Social Sciences, Cadernos de Geografia, Journal of Customer Behavior and International Criminal Justice Review.
She was invited to deliver several seminars within the scope of several scientific conferences and meetings in the areas of Communication and Marketing, Tourism and Security. She is also a member of several scientific committees and the organization boards of international scientific conferences. She is and was a member of several scientific research projects financed by FCT, IPV Research Center and Caixa Geral de Depósitos.
In her teaching activity, Claudia was the supervisor of several Projects and Internships in the Marketing and Tourism Graduations at ESTGV (21), Dissertations, Projects and Internships in the Territory and Heritage Tourism Masters at UC, Tourism Management and Marketing Research at ESTGV and at the European Master in Business Studies at the University of Leon (31). He co-supervised a PhD Thesis in Communication Sciences, at FLUC and is currently supervising two PhD Theses in Tourism, Heritage and Territory of the same faculty.
She is a member of CEGOT - Centre of Studies on Geography and Spatial Planning, NOVASBE - Nova School of Business and Economics and CISeD - Research Centre in Digital Services. Claudia Seabra develops its scientific research in the following areas: 1) tourism, 2) safety, 3) cultural tourism and 4) consumer behavior in tourism.
