Título: | Autonomous Occurrences | Outros títulos: | Autonomous Occurrences | Autor: | Lopes, Tomás Gabriel Godinho Martins | Orientador: | Furtado, Pedro Nuno San-Bento | Palavras-chave: | Cidades inteligentes; Gestão de ocorrências; Workflow engine; Occurrences management; Workflow engines; Smart cities | Data: | 14-Set-2021 | Título da revista, periódico, livro ou evento: | Autonomous Occurrences | Local de edição ou do evento: | Ubiwhere | Resumo: | With the complexity of the different cities increasing globally, the need for them to fix occurrences like incidents in public roadways or maintenance in city infrastructures also increased, leading to a necessity for solutions that can manage the before-mentioned problems in a more autonomous and faster way. The problem with incidents is not only to locate them but also to organize them and ensure that they follow a specific flow to achieve the final result that can vary depending on what type of issue is considered. The focus of this internship is to create a system to aid the process since an occurrence is registered until it is resolved. The proposed solution must integrate the existing methods to make those reports so that the already familiar applications used to obtain the information about the occurrences will not get obsolete when connected with the management system proposed. The idea of using a workflow engine will help with the automation of these processes since some office tasks that usually require human force can become autonomous activities. Despite this attempt, it is impossible to make every task autonomous considering that physical tasks will most of the time require a human factor. This internship will focus on making and integrating three applications that plan to integrate autonomous tasks and the ones that require the human workforce. One of these applications will be to register occurrences that the citizens report in their street, another for the system admins to manage the occurrences and the workers, and the last one for the workers to claim the tasks that require their assistance to be completed. The intention of integrating all of this with a workflow engine is due to many of these processes being statics for each type of occurrence and will increase the efficiency and effectiveness of their executions improving the citizens' quality of life.
