The World is so much more than what we know, what really matters iswanting to know it; “closing” our eyes and “opening” our imagination. The aim of this work is to understand how we can relate to space by closing our eyes; to do so, I interviewed three people with visual impairment, who showed me how they live the space and the techniques they use to guide them through the visit of two buildings. Using their skin and muscles, they feel and rely on their touch to understand the surfaces. Through the ears, they pay attention to what the space tells them, listening carefully to every noise. It is also through space awareness that they can walk and move through spaces. With this thesis, I came to understand that required technique salready exist at our disposal, now we need to learn how to transform the world using this techniques on our projects. As Architects, it is our job to create a space that can be used by everyone, using their techniques and tactile references we can create a space that can be “seen” for those who don’t see, and awake the senses of those who do. - - - The World is so much more than what we know, what really matters iswanting to know it; “closing” our eyes and “opening” our imagination.
