The changes that have occurred in the last few years, basically concerning the fragmentation of the teacher’s job itself and the responsible acts or not from parenthood, together with the lack of parental guidance on their kids, have brought new demands as well as the necessity and opportunity for questioning the ethic, responsibilities, functions and methods of a teacher. Documents like the “Carta Deontologica do Servico Publico” and the “Estatuto da Carreira Docente” can show you some points on which are described the main rights and duties of a Teacher whilst performing the job. Even though, with all the information that those documents contain, they do not reach to everyone, and because of that, dilemmas, burnout are part of the day to day of these professionals that carry with themselves the hard task of Teaching and Educating. This of course, demands a huge introspective of ethical points. The study presented on this dissertation is based on the answers of a sample of twelve students in their last secondary year which have been interviewed, and is also based on the analysis of their dissertation to the theme “Which are the rights and Duties of a Teacher?”. The twelve students are from two different classes of the school E.B 2,3/S Pedro Ferreiro2, contributing to improving and spreading a better knowledge in what concerns teacher’s morals and ethics and participating on the debate related to the questions of a teacher’s rights and main duties. This work includes the opinions and thoughts of students from a high school based in the district of Santarem located exactly in Ferreira do Zêzere. This work is mainly based in two facts: the first one, is that these students are more than capable of having a reflective attitude and credible opinion towards the main subject treated here, these students have spent most of their youth dealing directly with these professionals. The second one and also very important is that their voice can be heard and offer many contributes on developing and spreading the word so that things can improve.
