UC Researcher
Pedro Brandão completed the Integrated Master in Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2011 (Faculty of Pharmacy - University of Porto). He recently concluded his Phd studies in Chemistry (Catalysis and Sustainability) at the University of Coimbra - CQC/FCTUC. His PhD studies were developed in the Universidade de Coimbra, CQC, Department of Chemistry and University of Évora/LAQV-REQUIMTE. Shortly after he joined i3S - Institute for Research and Innovation in Health, at the Group of Molecular Biomaterials as Junior Researcher. Currently, Pedro Brandão is Assistant Professor at Egas Moniz School of Health and Science, where he continues to develop is research, focused on synthetic organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry and the application of biomaterials in drug delivery. Pedro Brandão published over 20 articles in journals, organized 7 events (national and international meetings/symposiums), and participated in several others. He has received the FISOCAT prize for best PhD Thesis in the Field of Catalysis, attributed by the Portuguese Chemical Society, the PYCA Portuguese Young Chemist Award) 2023, attributed by the Young Chemists Group of the Portuguese Chemical Society, two best poster awards, as well as some other distinctions in competitite settings (namely fellowships by the European Federation of Medicinal Chemistry and Chemical Biology to attend several events). He already had the chance to interact with over 120 collaborators from multiple countries.
