The transport of tissue paper products has a significant weight in the total production cost of The Navigator Company, due to its low density and, as such, high transportation cost per ton of product. In this sense, it is interesting to find solutions that allow to move more product volume, at the lowest aggregate global cost, and with greater added value, in order to improve its logistical performance, with an impact on the entire Supply Chain (SC).This dissertation, which is part of the Inpactus project – Innovative Products and Technologies from Eucalyptus, in partnership with The Navigator Company, develops a study on the modeling of palletized load deformation of tissue toilet paper products, of the Navigator Tissue Ródão, S.A. industrial complex. This company embarked on the tissue business area, in the context of looking for new growth opportunities, and is currently in the process of consolidating its position as leader in Portugal and expansion in the international market. In the present work, the problem under study is contextualized, analyzing the current state of the market for the main tissue paper products and their worldwide consumption, and a characterization of the industrial complex is carried out, in relation to its internal logistics. The resolution of the problem implies the use of the statistical software JMP® Pro 15 and the methodologies present there, being built, in the end, with the terms that characterize the roller, that translate the main compressions in the loading operations and which have laboratory origin, a precise and reliable deformation model, with multiple determination coefficients of 0,88, for the deformation of the products in length, and 0,78, in width of the pallet. Through the predictive expressions of the developed model, it is proposed its future application in an optimization model, aiming, thus, to maximize the occupation of the pallet and its storage in truck/container.
