Os conflitos militares no ensino da História portuguesa no 3º ciclo do Ensino Básico - A Batalha de S. Mamede (1128), o Cerco de Lisboa (1147) e a Batalha de Aljubarrota (1385)

Abstract

O relatório que aqui é apresentado surge com o propósito de apresentar asatividades desenvolvidas ao longo do ano de estágio que decorreu no ano letivo de2018-2019. O tema principal deste relatório tem por base o impacto da História militarno ensino da História e selecionámos para análise a Batalha de S. Mamede (1128), oCerco de Lisboa (1147) e a Batalha de Aljubarrota (1385).Numa primeira fase fazemos uma pequena recapitulação da prática pedagógicasupervisionada, realçando as características da escola, das turmas que encontrámos eainda das principais atividades, curriculares e extracurriculares, que realizámos ao longodo ano letivo. De seguida, procuramos analisar os momentos bélicos já referidoscomeçando pela recolha dos conteúdos selecionados tanto nos manuais do Estado Novocomo nos atuais. Apesar de, naturalmente, existirem muitas diferenças entre asmetodologias e os tópicos apresentados, apontamos ainda a perpetuação dedeterminados mitos que urge pôr termo.Outro dos propósitos deste relatório é o de elaborar um resumo da principalbibliografia existente sobre os eventos militares aqui analisados, procurando destacar ocontexto económico-social, quer nacional, quer internacional, a evolução políticomilitarque levou aos eventos e as principais operações bélicas desenroladas. Alémdisso, apresentamos as estratégias que utilizámos para lecionar estes eventos à turma de7º ano á qual lecionámos ao longo do ano letivo referido. Esta apresentação é seguida deuma avaliação crítica sobre os pontos positivos e negativos da aplicação destasestratégias em contexto de sala de aula.

This report aims to present the activities developed during the internshipdeveloped in a school that took place in the 2018-2019 educational year. The mainsubject of this report is the examination of the impact of military history on the courseof history and we have selected for analysis the Battle of S. Mamede (1128), the Siegeof Lisbon (1147) and the Battle of Aljubarrota (1385).In the first half of this report we make a short recap of the supervisedpedagogical practice, highlighting the characteristics of the school, the classes, whomwe had the chance to work with, and also the main activities that we carried out with thestudents throughout the school year. On the next segment, we seek to analyze themilitary conflicts already mentioned starting with the comparison with the contentsbetween the school textbooks dated from the dictatorship of Oliveira Salazar (known asEstado Novo – 1926-1974) and textbooks that are used today. Although, we haveencountered many differences between the methodologies and the topics presented, westill point out to the perpetuation of certain historic myths about these events.Another purpose of this report is to elaborate a state of the art of the militaryevents analyzed here, seeking to highlight the economic and social context, bothnational and international, the political-military evolution that led to the events and theoperations unrolled in the field of battle. In addition, we present the strategies we usedto teach these events to the seventh-grade class, under our responsibility. Afterwards wecomplete the explanation of the approaches we tried with a critical assessment of thestrengths and weaknesses of applying these strategies in the classroom.
