Notícias na Era da Pós-Verdade: uma análise dos comentários de notícias em Portugal

Abstract

A pós-verdade é um tema incontornável da atualidade, estendendo-se muito além das suas conexões com temas políticos. Embora tenham sido os acontecimentos políticos do ano 2016, os verdadeiros promotores da difusão do conceito “pós-verdade”. É importante mencionar que a temática em torno da pós-verdade, não tem tido uma agenda de discussão relevante em Portugal, contrariando a tendência internacional. No contexto pós-verdade, as fake news juntamente com os ataques a jornalistas, são certamente os temas que mais atenção têm captado a nível global. Esta dissertação é uma emersão nesse contexto pós-verdade em Portugal, que se encontra impregnado de fake news, teorias da conspiração e outros tipos de desinformação. Através duma articulação entre trabalho de campo multissituado e etnografia digital analisam-se alguns dos critérios que as pessoas utilizam para analisar e comentar as notícias no seu dia a dia, bem como alguns dos comportamentos derivados dessas análises. Também se analisam algumas estratégias de ação de trolls que tentam interferir na análise de notícias, ou que tentam divulgar conteúdos religiosos, políticos e pornográficos. Acompanhando a análise dos comentários é feita uma análise multidisciplinar de alguns dos temas presentes nas notícias mais comuns. O objetivo dessa análise é articular os conceitos analisados aos comentários de modo a que os comentários possam ser analisados posteriormente. É também possível analisar novos tipos de censura emergentes, que fazem desmoronar muitas teorias ao estilo de clichê que temos tendência para criar frequentemente, ao mesmo tempo que nos fazem repensar o que se entende por liberdade de expressão.

Post-truth is an inescapable topic of the present, extending far beyond its connections with political issues. Although they were the political events of the year 2016, the true promoters of the diffusion of the concept "post-truth". It is important to mention that the thematic around the post-truth, has not had a relevant discussion agenda in Portugal, contrary to the international trend. In the post-truth context, fake news along with the attacks on journalists are certainly the most attention-grabbing themes globally. This dissertation is an emersion in this post-truth context in Portugal, which is impregnated with fake news, conspiracy theories and other types of disinformation. Through an articulation between multisituated field work and digital ethnography, some of the criteria that people use to analyze and comment the news in their daily lives are analyzed, as well as some of the behaviors derived from these analyzes. Also analyzed are some troll action strategies that try to interfere in the analysis of news, or that try to spread religious, political and pornographic content. Accompanying the analysis of the comments is a multidisciplinary analysis of some of the themes present in the most common news. The purpose of this analysis is to articulate the analyzed concepts with the comments so that the comments can be analyzed later. It is also possible to analyze new types of censorship emerging, which crumble many cliche-like theories that we tend to create frequently, while rethinking what is meant by freedom of speech.
