A Escrita do Outro: Mentiras de Realidade e Verdades de Papel

Abstract

A tese que apresentamos tem como objetivo analisar o problema da heteronímia, as suas raízes, influências e repercussões. Ainda que o termo heterónimo seja forjado pelo autor de Mensagem, a verdade é que o fenómeno literário que o poeta trabalhou exaustivamente não surge sem precedentes. É esse estudo que pretendemos fazer, a partir de sete figuras marcantes - Filinto Elísio, João Mínimo, Carlos Fradique Mendes, K. Maurício, Álvaro de Campos, Bernardo Soares e Tiago Veiga. Começamos, pois, a nossa proposta a partir de Pessoa, cuja fragmentação é explicada literária, psicológica e biograficamente, porque só depois desta linha concetual se torna possível verificar como o fenómeno foi levado mais além, como acontece em Tiago Veiga, a partir do uso capital da imagem e das relações ecfrásticas, aliadas a uma necessidade de estar em constante movimento. Assim, os conceitos de turista e vagabundo apresentados por Zygmunt Bauman são peça fundamental da e na escrita do outro. A fragmentação da moderna vida urbana levou o sujeito literário à dispersão e ao constante vaguear em busca de um sentido. Partindo, então, de conceitos do âmbito sociológico, e aplicando-os ao universo literário, é possível compreendermos como as personagens em estudo se inserem numa dinâmica que demonstra a crise da identidade, transversal e multidisciplinar, sintoma de um tempo em transformação, que encontra na literatura um meio capaz de exprimir as marcas de uma época e de uma cosmogonia humanas. O que está em causa não é a procura de uma identidade una e harmoniosa. Está em causa, sim, a necessidade de uma busca que pode levar a vários caminhos: ao conhecimento através da História, ao conhecimento de nós próprios através da história dos outros, ao nada, ou, simplesmente, à necessidade de não poderem estar parados num só lugar. O imperativo de estar em constante movimento torna-se, deste modo, fundamental. Encontramos essa errância e esse constante apelo à viagem nos textos das personagens estudadas, uma vez que a liquidez se tornou condição sine qua non dos tempos modernos, começando pela quebra da unidade do sujeito, Stuart Hall dixit. Pelo meio fica a perda da auréola baudelairiana e o elogio do anonimato, cantados por Álvaro de Campos, Bernardo Soares e Tiago Veiga.

The following thesis aims to analyse the issue of heteronomy, it’s roots, influences and repercussions. Even though the term heteronym was forged by the author of Mensagem, the truth is that the literary phenomenon that the poet exhaustively worked on does not appear without precedence. That is the study we intend to pursue, based on seven striking figures - Filinto Elísio, João Mínimo, Carlos Fradique Mendes, K. Maurício, Álvaro de Campos, Bernardes Soares and Tiago Veiga. We will, indeed, begin our proposal with Pessoa, whose fragmentation is explained literarily, psychologically and biographically, because following this conceptual line becomes possible to verify how the phenomenon was taken even further, as it happens in Tiago Veiga, starting from the capital use of image and ekphrastic relations, allied to the need to be in constant movement. Likewise, the concepts of the tourist and the vagabond presented by Zygmunt Bauman are a fundamental piece of the writing of the other. The fragmentation of modern urban life took the literary subject to disperse and the constant wondering in search for a meaning. Starting then, from concepts of the sociological scope and applying them to the literary universe, it is possible to understand how the characters in the present study illustrate the dynamics of a identity crisis, transversal and multidisciplinary, a symptom of a time of transformation that finds in literature the means capable to express the features of an epoch and of a human cosmogony. The issue at hand is not the search for a unified and harmonious identity. It is a search that can lead to many paths: to the knowledge of History, to the knowledge of ourselves through the stories of others, to nothing or simply to the need to be unstill in a single place. The imperative of being in constant movement becomes, thus, fundamental. We will find this wandering and this constant appeal to the journey in the texts of the characters studied, once liquidity became a sine qua non condition of modern times, starting from the collapse of the unity of the subject, Stuart Hall dixit. In the middle remains the loss of the Baudelairian halo and the complement of anonimity, sung by Álvaro de Campos, Bernardo Soares and Tiago Veiga.
