A evolução da rede paroquial entre o Côa e o Távora so século XI ao século XVI.

Abstract

O presente trabalho aborda as problemáticas relacionadas com a evolução da rede paroquial, desde o século XI até ao século XVI, no território situado entre os rios Távora e Côa que foi, durante alguns séculos (XVI-XVII), um dos quatro distritos ou visitações do bispado de Lamego. Procurámos identificar e elencar condicionalismos e intervenientes que possibilitaram o povoamento desta zona, a partir do período pós-reconquista cristã, nomeadamente a sua localização geoestratégica. O fato de ser uma zona de fronteira exigiu medidas, com vista ao seu povoamento, por parte da monarquia e casas senhoriais presentes no território, através da outorga de instrumentos de fixação da população (cartas de foral).Após a reconquista cristã, a rede paroquial dá os primeiros passos e vai evoluindo de acordo com as decisões e orientações da Igreja Católica. O conhecimento da evolução da rede paroquial foi feito a partir das fontes disponíveis e permitiram-nos elencar os vários agentes responsáveis pela ereção canónica, crescimento, manutenção e trâmites da mesma. Sendo a população um dos elementos base para a existência das paróquias, é ela que vai condicionar o aparecimento ou extinção destas células básicas de agregação humana.Na sua apresentação, esta dissertação com o título: A evolução da rede paroquial entre o Côa e o Távora do século XI ao século XVI, de forma a facilitar a consulta do corpo do texto e respetivos anexos, optamos por dividi-la em dois volumes. No primeiro volume, apresenta-se o corpo do texto redigido, as fontes escritas e a bibliografia consultada; no segundo volume, elencamos todos os documentos anexos que recolhemos e elaborámos na realização do estudo, bem como apresentamos quadros-síntese, que pensamos ajudarem à mais rápida apreensão de aspetos estudados, e ainda mapas diversos, de vários olhares da realidade, terminando com um conjunto amplo de fotografias que, desejamos, ajudem a conhecer a região e a esclarecer o texto.

The work we present deals with the problems related to the evolution of the parish network from the 11th to the 16th centuries in the territory between the river Távora and the Côa river, which for some centuries (XVI-XVII) was one of the four districts or visits of the bishopric of Lamego.We sought to identify and list the constraints and intervenients that made settlement possible from the post-Reconquest Christian period in this area. Among the first things, we highlight the geostrategic situation of the area, a frontier zone that demanded settlement action by the monarchy and manor houses present in the territory, through the granting of instruments to fix the population (charters).The parish network that takes the first steps after the Christian reconquest, evolves following the guidelines of the Catholic Church.The knowledge of the evolution of the parish network was made from the available sources, which allowed us to list the various agents responsible for erection, growth and maintenance and the procedures of the same. Being the population one of the basic elements for the erection of the parishes, it is this that will greatly condition the appearance or extinction of those basic cells of the congregation of men.In his presentation, this dissertation entitled: The evolution of the parish network between the Côa and Távora from the 11th to the 16th centuries, in order to facilitate the consultation of the body of the text and its annexes, we chose to divide it into two volumes. In the first volume, we present the body of the written text, the written sources and the bibliography consulted; In the second volume, we list all the accompanying documents that we collected and elaborated in the study, as well as presenting synthesis tables, which we think will help the quickest apprehension of aspects studied, as well as several maps, from various perspectives of reality, ending with a A wide range of photographs that we hope will help you to get to know the region and clarify the text.
