This paper aims to present the history and market of the entity host of the curricular internship – EFACEC, at the same time, a brief description of the main activities conceived during the internship; the main focus is an analyse the change of using an internal combustion engine vehicle to an electric vehicle, where thru this behaviour change occurs a reduction of emitted greenhouse gases in a sector characterized as one of the most polluter, which will minimize the environmental impacts that transport sector entails, although the electric vehicle does not emit greenhouse gases, it always depends on the source used to produce electricity. As a consequence, it is necessary to examine the impacts that this kind of mobility involves in the energy dependence due to the amount of energy needed to charge the vehicle; as well as how this mobility appear to challenge the power grid, and to reflect on how the agents related with the vehicle conception, should construct or adapt their business model. Although it’s not significative yet, is already implemented in Portugal, that will be studied thru a brief analyse of the total automobile market sales and the sales related with the electric vehicle, having in mind that the entity host is presented as a market leader in the construction of the infrastructure needed to charge and electric vehicle in a international level. It becomes essential for the realization of this study to analyse the current policies in Portugal related with electric vehicles, as well as in a global level.
