O Sector Farmacêutico na Região Autónoma da Madeira

Abstract

Com o presente trabalho pretende mostrar-se como se encontra organizado e distribuído o sector farmacêutico da Região Autónoma da Madeira (RAM). Embora o sector farmacêutico seja mais abrangente, neste estudo serão apenas abordadas a farmácia de oficina, a farmácia hospitalar e a distribuição farmacêutica grossista para a caracterização do mesmo. De forma a contextualizar o trabalho será feita uma breve introdução à história das Ciências Farmacêuticas em Portugal e na Região Autónoma da Madeira. Seguidamente, será apresentada uma descrição da farmácia de oficina na RAM. Para a sua caracterização foram contemplados diversos aspetos, dos quais são destacados: o número de farmácias; a propriedade; a sua localização; o número de habitantes que usufruem dessas farmácias; os horários de funcionamento e serviços, bem como a sua adesão a grupos de compras e presença nas redes sociais. Relativamente aos serviços farmacêuticos hospitalares da região será referido o seuenquadramento num sistema centralizado e descrito o seu modo de funcionamento, destacando o número de funcionários, o horário de funcionamento e a distribuição de serviço. No que concerne ao sector da distribuição grossista farmacêutica da região, serão retratados, entre outros aspetos, a sua forma de trabalho; os seus horários de funcionamento; o número de funcionários e o tipo e número de clientes. A partir da análise das informações recolhidas serão apresentadas conclusões sobre osector farmacêutico na Região Autónoma da Madeira.

The present work intends to show how the pharmaceutical sector of the Autonomous Region of Madeira (RAM) is organized and distributed. Although the pharmaceutical sector is broader, in this study it will only be approached community pharmacy, hospital pharmacy and wholesale pharmaceutical distribution. In order to contextualize the work, a brief introduction will be made to the history of the Pharmaceutical Sciences in Portugal and in the Autonomous Region of Madeira. Next, a description of the community pharmacy in the RAM will be presented. Several aspects were considered for its characterization, of which are highlighted: the number of pharmacies; the property; its location; the number of inhabitants who use these pharmacies; the hours of operation and services, as well as their adherence to groups of purchases and presence in internet's social networks. In relation to the hospital's pharmaceutical services in the region, it will be mentioned its framework in a centralized system and described its mode of operation, highlighting the number of employees, the hours of operation and the distribution of the service. With regard to the pharmaceutical wholesale distribution sector in the region, it will be portrayed the way they work, among other aspects; their working hours; the number of employees and the type and number of customers.Based on the analysis of the information collected, conclusions will be presented on the pharmaceutical sector in the Autonomous Region of Madeira.
