Behçet´s Disease (DB) is a systematic autoinflammatory disease, presenting itself with different clinical manifestations that define a syndrome with it´s own criteria. Oral aphthosis are the most common symptom of this syndrome. The main purpose of this study was to describe, from a cohort of patients referred for medical consultation in systemic autoimmune diseases, the clinical spectrum on patients diagnosed with DB.Descriptive and retrospective study of patients followed in oral aphthosis consultations. Two groups were established – the first group included patients diagnosed with DB, and the second group included patients sent for consultation regarding oral aphthosis, on which the diagnostic for DB had been exclude and other autoimmune pathology had been diagnosed.88 patients were found, from which 68 were diagnosed with DB – group 1 while the remaining 20 presented other autoimmune pathologies – group 2. In group 1 the average age at which patients were diagnosed with DB was 28±9,6 years old. The frequency woman/man was 2:1. The following clinical manifestations were highlighted: recurrent oral aphthosis in 100% of the patients, genital aphthosis in 82,4%, dermatologic manifestations in 76,5% and ophthalmological in 60,3%, while the remaining manifestations had percentages below 20%. In group 2, on the other hand, oral aphthosis constituted 20% of the clinical manifestations. The clinical characteristics obtained close to the ones described in literature and demonstrated concordance with ICBD criteria. |
