Fazendo gênero no candomblé: entre o feminismo internacional e a retórica salvacionista. Por um enunciado epistemológico desde os terreiros

Abstract

Inspirado no conceito de ‘colonialidade do poder’, tal como proposto por Quijano, viso neste ensaio refletir sobre a relação entre o ‘feminismo’ e o universo candomblecista. Através de um resgate de fragmentos da história dos terreiros no Brasil, questiono o quanto poderá ser a leitura do candomblé enquanto um ‘matriarcado’ uma imposição da agenda feminista acadêmica. E, assim o sendo, uma relação regulatória entre a academia e o ‘mundo das práticas’ que, em última análise, acaba por suprimir uma alternativa ‘feminista negra candomblecista’ em detrimento de um modelo internacionalista de ‘ser-se feminista’. Abrindo mão do universo estritamente ritualístico desta religião de terreiro, apoio-me nos debates feministas e pós-coloniais contra o eurocentrismo para reforçar, claramente, a necessidade de promover-se uma reflexão epistemológica em prol de um feminismo negro situado: localizado e enunciado filosoficamente desde os terreiros.

Inspired by the concept of 'coloniality of power', first theorized by Quijano, I intend in this essay to reflect on the relationship between the 'feminism' and the Candomblé’s universe. Through a rescue of historical fragments of the terreiros in Brazil, I question how deep can be the dominant interpretations of Candomblé as a 'matriarchy' a kind of an imposition from the Eurocentric academic feminist agenda. And, if so, a regulatory relationship between academy and the ‘world of practices’ that ultimately suppress an alternative 'black feminism praxis’, epistemologically centered in Candomblé’s cosmogonies in the name of an internationalist model of ‘being feminist’. Relinquishing a strictly ritualistic examination of this religion, this analysis will rely in some critical perspectives inside feminism and postcolonial debates against eurocentrism, reinforcing the need to promote epistemological reflections towards a black situated feminism: philosophically localized in the terreiros.
