dc.description.abstract | Inspired by the concept of 'coloniality of power', first theorized by Quijano, I intend in this essay to reflect on the relationship between the 'feminism' and the Candomblé’s universe. Through a rescue of historical fragments of the terreiros in Brazil, I question how deep can be the dominant interpretations of Candomblé as a 'matriarchy' a kind of an imposition from the Eurocentric academic feminist agenda. And, if so, a regulatory relationship between academy and the ‘world of practices’ that ultimately suppress an alternative 'black feminism praxis’, epistemologically centered in Candomblé’s cosmogonies in the name of an internationalist model of ‘being feminist’. Relinquishing a strictly ritualistic examination of this religion, this analysis will rely in some critical perspectives inside feminism and postcolonial debates against eurocentrism, reinforcing the need to promote epistemological reflections towards a black situated feminism: philosophically localized in the terreiros. | por |
