cidade.
The urban gardens, considered as a community and educational practice also reveal a cultural manifestation of preserving farming traditions and contribution of sustainability for the city. However, these agricultural areas may be more than merely a sustainable component and, therefore, become an integral part of the city. This dissertation analyzes the characteristics of urban gardens in order to understand how the architect can express their contribution in the (re) City qualification with these vegetables spaces, to give an urban sense of interstitial or expectant city places. Assuming that architecture and urbanism have a key role in organizing the city and the urban gardens are sustainable practices intend to demonstrate that there must be more investment within the own urban design, planning and better integration of gardens giving way to urban character spaces although with features that are still commonly associated with the rural environment. The architecture as a discipline of synthesis should promote the idea of ceasing to exist a barrier between the rural and urban, because despite the gardens, in its broadest sense, not emerge from an urban character, do not cease to be a city. |
