Frente de mar da Figueira da Foz : hipóteses para o espaço lúdico

Abstract

A presente dissertação tem como objetivo estimular uma discussão sobre o potencial lúdico da avenida marginal da Figueira da Foz e, portanto, da sua frente de mar, que apresenta, atualmente, uma condição imagética pouco apelativa em termos urbano-paisagísticos. Para o efeito, conjetura-se um exercício de hipóteses que procura a criação de uma nova imagem para o lugar, através de colagens mais ou menos conceptuais, realizadas com base na interpretação e apropriação de referências paradigmáticas, entre as quais se tem como protagonista a Las Vegas dos anos 60 e 70, pelas significações e figurações visuais dos seus elementos. Estas alusões, espera-se, serão pertinentes e inspiradoras para a conceção de tais imagens, cujo propósito é, através das suas representações e conteúdos, despoletar uma ponderação crítica sobre as possibilidades visuais, associadas ao lazer e ao turismo, da marginal e da frente de mar da Figueira da Foz.

This dissertation aims to stimulate the debate about the ludic potential of the seaside avenue of Figueira da Foz, therefore of its waterfront. The place’s condition reveals a non-attractive image when it comes to its urban and landscape aspects. Thus, this work foresees an exercise of hypotheses, which intends to propose a new image for the waterfront through the creation of conceptual collages. These are conceived on the basis given by the interpretation and appropriation of paradigmatic references, among which the one of Las Vegas, in the 60s and 70s, stands as leading figure due to the visual meaning of its elements. Optimistically, these allusions will be relevant and inspiring towards the conception of such images. Through its representations and contents, the goal of those collages is to incite a critical reflection by relating the subjects of leisure and tourism to the visual possibilities of the waterfront of Figueira da Foz.
