A procissão da Rainha Santa Isabel no século XX: Contextos e Influências da Câmara Municipal de Coimbra nas festas da Rainha Santa

Abstract

A presente dissertação tem como objetivo estudar não só as procissões da Rainha Santa no século XX, mas também os contextos e influências da Câmara de Coimbra na realização das suas festas. Na primeira parte, com base na análise das obras de António de Vasconcelos, pretende-se abordar a origem do culto dedicado a Santa Isabel e a história da Confraria da Rainha Santa Isabel. Seguidamente, apresenta-se uma abordagem histórica, compreendida entre os séculos XVIII e XIX, a sua contextualização, práticas religiosas e os seus intervenientes. Posteriormente, descreve-se o culto religioso dedicado à Rainha Santa no século XX, abordando a sua organização e composição, os diversos itinerários e as datas de realização das mesmas, entre 1894 a 1974. De seguida, procura-se compreender o papel da Câmara Municipal de Coimbra, a sua influência e intervenções na organização das festas da Rainha Santa. Por fim, apresenta-se uma compilação, que inclui os programas oficiais das festas da Rainha Santa e os folhetos das mesmas.

This dissertation aims to study the processions of Queen Saint Isabel in the twentieth century and the contexts and influences of the Coimbra municipal council in carrying out their feasts. In the first part, based on the analysis of the works of Antonio de Vasconcelos, we intend to study the origin of the cult dedicated to Saint Isabel and the history of the Confraternity of the Holy Queen Isabel. Then, it presents a historical approach, between the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, its contextualization, religious practices and their stakeholders. Subsequently, we present the description of the religious cult dedicated to the Saint in the twentieth century, approaching your organization and composition, the various routes and dates of the same, between 1894 to 1974. We intend to then understand the role of the Coimbra municipal council, his influence and interventions in the organization of the religious celebrations to Queen Saint Isabel. Finally, we performed a compilation, comprising the official program of the celebrations of Queen St. and the leaflets of the same.
