O terrorismo e a expressão terrorista em português

Abstract

O terrorismo assume um papel muito importante no panorama social da actualidade, bem como na política externa da maioria das nações. O tema e vastíssimo, e impossível de analisar pela simples óptica de uma abordagem unidisciplinar. Verifica-se que existe alguma confusão nos entendimentos da natureza do fenómeno discrepâncias nas opiniões sobre o alcance da sua acção, bem como a dinâmica que está inerente a este tipo de organizações. O terrorista continua a ser um elemento que suscita muita dúvida e até um pouco de mistério literário. O que o motiva? O que o conduz? Qual a sua forma de pensar? Qual a sua mecânica em grupo? Este trabalho procura iluminar um pouco estas questões, através de uma breve revisão sobre o que os investigadores de diversas áreas, com especial relevância na área da psicologia, pesquisaram e concluíram sobre a temática.

Terrorism assumes a very important role in nowadays social context, as well as in the external policy of the majority of nations. It is a huge theme and impossible to analyze through the simple optic of an unidisciplinary approach. There is still some confusion in understanding the nature of this phenomena as well as opinion discrepancies about the reach of its action and in the dynamic that is connected to this kind of organizations. The terrorist is still an element that brings out many doubts and even a certain literary mystery. What motivates him? What leads him? How does he think? Which is his group mechanic? This paper aims to clarify some of these questions through a brief revision on the researches and conclusions of investigators from different areas with special relevance in the psychology field.
