A metodologia utilizada recorrendo à codeposição
Abstract The present research intends on the deposition of TiO :Ag thin films by dc reactive magnetron sputtering. In order to make functional the surfaces of smart biomaterials used in the manufacture of amputated limbs sensors, the content of silver should not exceed 20% atomic. This method used a pure Ti target and another Ti target with 5 silver tablets. During deposition all the conditions were held constant but the power applied to the Ti+Ag target. With the variation in this target, it was possible to get 4 - 16% at. silver thin films. After deposition, all coatings, including the standard one, showed an amorphous structure. Thin films until 6% at. Ag, didn’t have silver at the surface. In order to get to know the best temperature and the best silver percentage of the films (to avoid the silver diffusion to the surface), all coatings were subjected to a thermal annealing process. Finally, it can be concluded that temperatures above 300ºC as well as thin films with more silver than 16% at. should not be exceeded. Coatings with this content in silver show compact morphologies and good adherence to the substrate but low hardness values, because of the silver diffusion to the surface of the films. |
