Planeamento e Montagem de uma Exposição de Arte no Museu Buchheim

Abstract

The purpose of this report is to document the work done at the Buchheim Museum as part of the master’s programme in Cultural Heritage and Museology at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Coimbra. The cultural project was part of the Erasmus+ mobility programme.The Buchheim Museum is located north of Bernried on the shore of Lake Starnberg. The park in which it is located was commissioned in the 1930s by Wilhelmina Busch-Woods, benefactor of the Bernried National Park. The architecture of this space was designed by Günter Behnish, who presented a project that allowed a great abundance of light to enter, and which integrates harmoniously into its environment. This building contains Lothar-Günther Buchheim's diverse collection, which includes works of art from the German Expressionist period, as well as works of art and objects of cult from Oceania, Africa and Asia as a result of Lothar-Günther Buchheim's travels. In this report a study is made on the function of the museum space, and the role of the objects exhibited in the museum. It examines the history and evolution of the museum and the emergence of the new cultural policies in force today.The second chapter investigates the foundation of the museum and the life of Lothar-Günther Buchheim. It also reflects on the museum's mission and how it currently operates according to its objectives, which are aligned with the preservation, conservation and research of the works in the collection. After an overview of the receiving institution, the project is presented in its general guidelines, which was carried out during the internship period. "The Other Side of the Moon" (Die Andere Seite des Mondes in German) was a contemporary group art exhibition in which 78 works by seven emerging national and international artists were exhibited.

O presente relatório serve o propósito de registar as atividades profissionais desenvolvidas no Buchheim Museum, no âmbito do Mestrado de Património Cultural e Museologia na vertente de Museologia, na Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Coimbra. O projeto cultural foi inserido no programa de mobilidade Erasmus+.Localizado a Norte de Bernried, o Museu Buchheim está sediado a Norte de Bernried na margem do lago Starnberg. O parque no qual está sediado foi comissionado durante a década de 1930 por Wilhelmina Busch-Woods, benfeitora do Parque Nacional de Bernried. A arquitetura deste espaço foi projetada por Günter Behnish, o arquiteto apresentou um projeto que permitiu uma grande entrada de luz, e que se integra de forma harmoniosa no meio onde está inserido. Este edifício alberga a coleção muito diversificada de Lothar-Günther Buchheim, na qual consta obras de arte do Expressionismo alemão, obras e objetos de culto da Oceânia, África e Ásia em seguimento das viagens de Lothar-Günther Buchheim. Neste relatório elabora-se um estudo sobre a função do espaço museológico, e o papel do objeto exposto no museu. Estudou-se a história e evolução do museu e o aparecimento das novas políticas culturais vigentes no presente. No segundo capítulo faz-se uma investigação acerca da fundação do museu e sobre a vida de Lothar-Günther Buchheim. É feita ainda uma reflexão acerca da missão do museu, e sobre a forma como opera atualmente segundo os seus objetivos alinhados com a preservação, conservação e investigação das obras da coleção.Após um enquadramento da instituição de acolhimento elabora-se a apresentação do projeto nas suas linhas gerais que veio a ser executado durante o período de estágio. “The Other Side of the Moon” (Die Andere Seite des Mondes em alemão), foi uma exposição de arte coletiva contemporânea no qual foram expostas 78 obras de sete artistas emergentes a nível nacional e internacional.
