Arthur Ramos: pioneirismo e militância antirracismo no Brasil (1926-1949)

Abstract

Este artigo pretende discorrer sobre o pioneirismo do médico e antropólogo brasileiro Arthur Ramos de Araújo Pereira, na constituição de uma agenda antirracista, entre os anos 1926 e 1949. Foram utilizadas como fontes primárias de pesquisa trabalhos de Arthur Ramos, além de referenciais teóricos específicos. Pretende-se, com este estudo, contribuir para o aprofundamento de reflexões acerca das incipientes ações efetivadas por intelectuais brasileiros, no combate ao racismo no país.

This article intends to discuss the pioneering spirit of the Brazilian physician and anthropologist Arthur Ramos de Araújo Pereira, in the constitution of an anti-racist agenda, between the years 1926 and 1949. Arthur Ramos works were used as primary sources of research, in addition to specific theoretical references. It is intended, with this study, to contribute to the deepening of reflections about the incipient actions carried out by Brazilian intellectuals, in the fight against racism in the country.
