DISSEMINAÇÃO DO BACILO DE CALMETTE-GUÉRIN: A PROPÓSITO DE UM CASO CLÍNICO

Abstract

O Bacilo de Calmette-Guérin foi inicialmente utilizado como terapêutica adjuvante do carcinoma não músculo-invasivo de alto grau da bexiga por Morales em 1976. Desde então, foi assumindo um papel cada vez mais preponderante na terapia desta entidade sendo que, atualmente, é aceite por todas as orientações internacionais, mesmo sem conhecimento profundo do seu mecanismo de ação.Por este motivo, e por serem em baixo número, as reações adversas e complicações apresentam uma dificuldade acrescida e muitas vezes desconhecida para a comunidade médica.Apresentamos um caso clínico de um doente de 50 anos, com uma manifestação de poliartrite causada pela disseminação do Bacilo de Calmette-Guérin, após ter iniciado a terapêutica adjuvante intravesical.Desta forma, esperamos contribuir para enriquecermos a literatura já existente quanto às complicações associadas a este tratamento, que ainda requer mais relatos e estudos.O Bacilo de Calmette-Guérin foi inicialmente utilizado como terapêutica adjuvante do carcinoma não músculo-invasivo de alto grau da bexiga por Morales em 1976.
