Corpo: O Objeto da Arte

Abstract

A prática artística no mundo contemporâneo tem assumido, cada vez mais, o lugar da narrativa e da reflexão sobre o ser humano e suas relações sociais. Na era das imagens rápidas e do compartilhamento instantâneo – via meios digitais de longo alcance – a exposição dos sujeitos e de suas vidas pessoais configura o reposicionamento do próprio corpo como objeto da arte, em suas múltiplas possibilidades. A tese traz, a partir de minha prática artística e das reflexões sobre ela, um estudo que aborda o corpo como objeto e como suporte da arte, tanto em seu estado físico quanto na construção de imagens. Ora através da análise da obra de outros artistas, ora da minha própria, constroem-se paralelos entre o papel do artista, sua intenção, método, ação e objeto final produzido. O foco da análise transita entre a temática da autorrepresentação na arte – e do espelho como metáfora do autoconhecimento – e do corpo como objeto de arte, seu campo de ação situado entre o real e o metafórico, bem como suas e narrativas e possibilidades de leituras e releituras. Além da pesquisa teórica e análise da obra de terceiros, o trabalho se desenvolve também a partir da análise de minha prática, materializada em trabalhos em vídeo, pintura, desenho e poesia, entrelaçando todas minhas áreas de ação. A partir da exposição destes trabalhos, e da reflexão sobre eles, busca-se mostrar como se constrói – através de múltiplos fragmentos: música, texto, desenhos, pintura, vídeo, enfim, variadas linguagens – um único corpo e um sujeito a ser decifrado

Artistic practice in the contemporary world has increasingly assumed the place of narrative and reflection on human beings and their social relations. In the era of fast images and instantaneous sharing - via long-range digital means - the exposure of subjects and their personal lives brings the repositioning of the body itself as an object of art, in its multiple possibilities. The thesis brings, from my artistic practice and the reflections on it, a study that approaches the body as an object and as a support of art, both in its physical state and in the construction of images. Sometimes through the analysis of the work of other artists, sometimes of my own, parallels between the artist's role, his intention, method, action and final object produced are constructed. The focus of the analysis transits between the theme of self-representation in art - and the mirror as a metaphor of self-knowledge - and of the body as an art object, its field of action between the real and the metaphorical, as well as its narratives and possibilities of reading and re-readings. Besides the theoretical research and analysis of the work of others, the work also develops from the analysis of my practice, materialized in works in video, painting, drawing and poetry, intertwining all my areas of action. From the exhibition of these works, and the reflection on them, we seek to show how one builds - through multiple fragments: music, text, drawings, painting, video, in short, various languages - a single body and a subject to be deciphered.
