De Portas Abertas: Intervenção Artística e Comunitária no Vale da Arregaça

Abstract

O presente relatório tem como base o estágio realizado no Teatrão (Oficina Municipal de Teatro), no contexto do projeto De Portas Abertas, projeto artístico-comunitário desenvolvido no Vale da Arregaça, em Coimbra. A minha tarefa principal foi integrar a equipa do projeto e contribuir para o processo de Mapeamento Cultural do Vale. Partindo das características e da natureza desta zona da cidade, o relatório tem como objetivo refletir sobre a forma como questões sociais, culturais e políticas associadas a determinados espaços urbanos podem ser relevadas através de atividades culturais e artísticas.Ao longo da História, a atividade artística sempre teve um papel interventivo e de reivindicação social. Apesar do uso das novas inovações tecnológicas e das redes sociais que tiveram um papel fundamental nos novos movimentos sociais (como o movimento Ocuppy Wall Street e a Primavera Árabe), é pertinente perceber de que forma a arte e a cultura assumiram formatos de intervenção social.A metodologia utilizada foi adequada às tarefas planeadas, em particular: pesquisa bibliográfica e análise documental sobre diferentes aspetos do Vale da Arregaça; observação direta e identificação dos principais lugares de grande significado histórico e cultural; aplicação presencial de inquéritos por questionário; entrevistas semi-diretivas às principais personalidades da zona e análise estatística de inquéritos.Os resultados apresentam as conclusões retiradas da análise dos inquéritos, análise das entrevistas e da observação direta. Pretendi dar conta também da organização e preparação das tarefas do estágio, suas dificuldades ao longo do processo de acompanhamento, particularmente provocadas pela corrente pandemia de Covid-19.

This report is based on the internship held at the Teatrão (Oficina Municipal de Teatro), in the context of the project De Portas Abertas, artistic-community project developed in Vale da Arregaça, in Coimbra.My main task was to integrate the project team and contribute to the process of cultural mapping of the Valley. Based on the characteristics and nature of this area of the city, the report aims to reflect on how social, cultural and political issues associated with certain urban spaces can be relegated through cultural and artistic activities.Throughout history, artistic activity has always played an intervening and social role. Despite the use of new technological innovations and social networks that played a key role in the new social movements (such as the Ocuppy Wall Street movement and the Arab Spring), it is pertinent to understand how art and culture have assumed forms of social intervention.The methodology used was appropriate to the planned tasks, in particular: bibliographic research and documentary analysis on different aspects of the Vale da Arregaça; direct observation and identification of the main places of great historical and cultural significance; in-person application of surveys by questionnaire; semi-directive interviews with the main personalities of the area and statistical analysis of surveys.The results present the conclusions drawn from the analysis of the surveys, analysis of the interviews and direct observation. I also wanted to give an account of the organization and preparation of the internship tasks, their difficulties throughout the follow-up process, particularly caused by the pandemic current of Covid-19.
