The evolution of demand and the ambition of companies in sustaining their market competitiveness has made that the lean philosophy e the investment in tools of continuous improvement were increasingly more applied in industries. The main objective of this work is to develop a proposition of a model that uses a union of lean tools to reduce or eliminate productive inefficiencies of a workcell in Durit – Metal Duro.Based on a chapter of theoretical framework where the main ideas of lean philosophy and the use of its tools are exposed, this dissertation reveals the main advantages and benefits of lean tools. To correctly identify the problems and analyse adequatelly the solutions it was necessary the use of some methodologies. At first, it was used a ABC analysis to be able to focus the study on relevant products. Then, a Gemba Walk was made for a period of time where all the existing processes and communication in the workcell were observed. From here, all the problems of productive efficiency were identified. We then moved to brainstorming sessions to discuss ideas and possible solutions to apply. Finally, all the solutions that brainstorming provided were put to practice and a model was proposed for implementation where there were various lean tools such as SMED, Visual Management and 5S would work simbiotically. This model, when implemented totally, will be able to bring significative improvement in terms of productive time, workplace communication and be able to set an example for lean implementation on other workcells.
