Abstract

O presente documento inclui os Relatórios de Estágio em Farmácia Comunitária e em Indústria Farmacêutica e a Monografia intitulada de “Os Novos Paradigmas Terapêuticos e Tecnológicos da Diabetes tipo 1”.O estágio em Farmácia Comunitário ocorreu na Farmácia Isabel Folhas e teve uma duração de 673 horas, sob a orientação da Dra. Isabel Folhas. O estágio em Indústria Farmacêutica ocorreu na Pfizer, sob a orientação da Dra. Ana Faber. Por último, a Monografia foi elaborada sob a orientação da Prof. Dra. Ana Cristina Cabral.Os Relatórios de Estágio são realizados com base na análise SWOT, realçando todos os Pontos Fortes, Pontos Fracos, Oportunidades e Ameaças que estiveram presentes no meu estágio e que contribuíram para a totalidade da minha experiênciaDe seguida, segue uma breve síntese do conteúdo da monografia.Atualmente, a Diabetes tipo 1 é um dos focos da investigação mundial. Particularidades como a sua elevada incidência e prevalência e o seu carácter multifatorial fazem com que exista um grande investimento na investigação nesta área. A pesquisa desenvolvida permitiu ilustrar os novos paradigmas no tratamento da Diabetes tipo 1, analisando a evolução exponencial no desenvolvimento de novas insulinas, com perfis farmacocinéticos muito semelhantes à insulina fisiológica e a experimentação de novas vias de administração de insulina. Para além disso, em pleno século XXI, vive-se no auge da era tecnológica - “Tecnologia na Diabetes”. Desta forma, esta pesquisa incide igualmente nos novos dispositivos que foram desenvolvidos para revolucionar o modo de monitorizar e controlar esta patologia.

This document includes the Internship Reports in Community Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Industry and the Monograph entitled "The New Therapeutic and Technological Paradigms of Type 1 Diabetes". The internship in Community Pharmacy took place at Pharmacy Isabel Folhas and lasted 673 hours, under the guidance of Dr. Isabel Folhas. The internship in Pharmaceutical Industry took place at Pfizer, under the guidance of Dr. Ana Faber. Finally, the Monograph was prepared under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Ana Cristina Cabral. The Internship Reports are based on the SWOT analysis, highlighting all the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats that were present in my internship and that contributed to the totality of my experience. Following is a brief summary of the content of the monograph.In contemporary times, type 1 Diabetes is one of the focus of worldwide research. Particularities such as its high incidence and prevalence and its multifactorial character mean that there is a great investment in research in this area. This research allows us to illustrate the new paradigms of type 1 Diabetes, analysing the exponential evolution in the development of new insulins, with pharmacokinetic profiles very similar to physiological insulin and the experimentation of new types of insulin administration. In addition, in the 21st century, we are living the peak of the technological era - “Technology in diabetes”. In this way, this research also focuses on new devices that have been developed to revolutionize the way of monitoring and controlling this pathology.
