The present report describes the work developed throughout four months, between 21st of January and 28th of May of 2019, at the human resources consultant Open Source Management’s office in Coimbra, Portugal, within the curricular internship of the Master’s Degree of Management, with the specialization in Human Resources. The following internship had, as a main goal, contributing to Open Source Management’s business development, exploring the market in Coimbra region and applying the Group’s know-how to Human Resources consulting. In the presente days, people are being more and more valued, due to the recognition of the value they can add at an organisational level. This area has been subject of growing investigation and, consequently, of bigger investment. Nonetheless, and despite this tendency, we also have acknowledged the existence of practices that don’t take into consideration the responsabilities typically associated and legally given to any company. This area, which is particularly relevant when it comes to labour related matters, has been the target of a growing (and necessary) research and consequently of a bigger investment. Despite of all this, Human Resources and more specifically employees´ weel-being are not taken into consideration in the way they should. That way, here we’ll have an analysis of the Human Resources practices and the establishment of a relation of this with the work developed throughout four months. The unavoidable conclusion we take out of this experience is the mandatory necessity to value people taking into consideration not only their work life but also remembering aspects related with their extra-work life, namely personal life, which is fundamental to enhance and promote their well-being.
