A Evolução do Espaço de Habitar: Do projeto construído pelo arquiteto ao projeto habitado pelo indivíduo

Abstract

Na segunda metade do século XX, o crescimento descompassado das cidades modernas provocou um grave problema de carência habitacional e, consequentemente, um aumento dos assentamentos humanos informais. Até aos dias de hoje, a espacialização da pobreza urbana tem vindo a aumentar. Tendo por objetivo aprender a intervir em ambientes desta natureza, a presente dissertação estuda a temática da Habitação Incremental desenvolvida pelo atelier Elemental, uma tipologia baseada em sistemas de construção simples que permitem a evolução da habitação a par da evolução dos seus habitantes. De forma subsequente, estuda-se a dissolução da dicotomia em que o arquiteto era responsável pelo processo de desenhar e construir e o indivíduo pelo processo de habitar, originando-se um processo que envolve o indivíduo na construção da habitação, do bairro e da cidade.

In the second half of the 20th century, the uncontrolled growth of modern cities has led to a serious problem of housing shortages and, consequently, an increase in informal settlements. To the present day, the spatialization of urban poverty has been increasing. With the aim of learning to intervene in environments of this nature, the present dissertation studies the theme of Incremental Housing developed by Elemental, a typology based on simple construction systems that allow the evolution of housing along with the evolution of its inhabitants. Thus, this project aims to study the dissolution of the dichotomy in which the architect was responsible for the process of drawing and building and the individual by the process of dwelling, originating a process that involves the individual in the construction of housing, the neighborhood and the city.
