Title: | Terapêutica da malária: presente e perspectivas futuras | Authors: | Oliveira, Adelino José Lopes | Orientador: | Melo, Maria Luísa Sá e | Keywords: | Malária; Terapia | Issue Date: | Sep-2014 | Place of publication or event: | Coimbra | Abstract: | Neste trabalho foi abordado o tema Terapêutica da Malária. Presente e Perspectivas
Futuras.
transmissão e fase no mosquito.
In this work, the theme: Malaria therapeutics. Present and future perspectives has been approached. At first the malaria topic has been presented, by going through its epidemiology. Incidence, prevalence and cost associated. The life cycle of the Plasmodium has been studied, going through all of its four phases, the liver, the blood, the transmission and the mosquito phases. The ongoing therapeutics, from its posology and associated resistances, and the diminishment of its efficacy has been presented. A discussion of some future measures and new therapeutics, in vitro and in vivo studies included, has been presented. The discovery of double steroid carrier aminated tetraoxanes has been discussed, Plasmodium as a promising example for future therapies. |
