Abstract

Resumo - Relatório de Estágio em Indústria FarmacêuticaAlém do estágio em Farmácia Comunitária, que está contemplado no Mestrado Integrado em Ciências Farmacêuticas, há ainda a possibilidade de fazer, adicionalmente, um Estágio em Indústria Farmacêutica e/ou em Farmácia Hospitalar, o que é uma mais-valia, uma vez que não só permite ter uma maior perceção de outras áreas em que se insere um Mestre em Ciências Farmacêuticas e das diferentes responsabilidades e funções que o mesmo pode desempenhar, mas também a oportunidade de ter uma noção mais prática do que foi sendo dado no decorrer do curso e adquirir novos conhecimentos. A indústria farmacêutica foi, desde do início do curso, uma das áreas que mais despertou a minha atenção, pelo que sempre tive interesse em conhecer, em contexto mais prático, o que envolve, a dinâmica, o quotidiano de quem trabalha numa indústria farmacêutica, os diferentes departamentos em que está organizada, as várias funções e responsabilidades e em quais se insere um Mestre em Ciências Farmacêuticas. Posto isto, além do estágio em farmácia comunitária, decidi fazer também um estágio em Indústria Farmacêutica. Tive a oportunidade de realizar o meu estágio na Bluepharma o que, sendo uma indústria farmacêutica empreendedora, inovadora e cuja atividade abrange todo o ciclo de vida do medicamento, foi bastante enriquecedor, o qual decorreu no Departamento de Assuntos Regulamentares (AR). No presente relatório faço uma análise SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) do meu estágio no Departamento de Assuntos Regulamentares da Bluepharma. O estágio em Farmácia Comunitária permite o contacto com o papel do farmacêutico na população, como agente de saúde pública e como especialista do medicamento, bem como uma melhor compreensão da importância e do impacto do mesmo. Neste contexto, escolhi realizar o meu estágio na Farmácia São Martinho, em Coimbra, onde fui tão bem acolhida e onde aprendi imenso com profissionais que exercem a sua profissão com foco no utente. No presente relatório faço uma análise SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) do meu estágio na Farmácia São Martinho.Resumo - Monografia intitulada " Nanotechnology Applied to Regenerative Therapy and Regulatory Framework" A compreensão da importância da matriz extracelular na regulação do comportamento celular, os avanços no estudo das células estaminais e a aplicação da nanotecnologia à medicina regenerativa e à engenharia de tecidos vieram potenciar o desenvolvimento de terapias regenerativas. As células estaminais apresentam a capacidade de autorrenovação e de diferenciação em diferentes tipos de linhagens celulares especializadas, mostrando-se promissoras na restauração do funcionamento normal e na regeneração de tecidos do corpo. A nanotecnologia tem permitido o desenvolvimento de diferentes nanomateriais para a criação de suportes para a cultura de células estaminais, que procuram mimetizar a matriz extracelular e controlar o destino das células estaminais, no sentido de direcionar o seu crescimento, proliferação e diferenciação em tecidos específicos. Na presente monografia é feito um levantamento de alguns nanomateriais que se mostram promissores para aplicação em terapias regenerativas, no sentido de abordar as suas potencialidades e os avanços nos estudos que têm vindo a ser realizados. Na segunda parte da monografia é feito um enquadramento regulamentar, na European Medicines Agency e na Food and Drug Administration, destas terapias regenerativas que combinam a terapia celular com materiais de suporte capazes de controlar o comportamento celular.

Abstract - Pharmaceutical Industry Internship ReportIn addition to the internship in Community Pharmacy, which is included in the Master's Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, there is also a possibility to do, additionally, a internship in Pharmaceutical Industry and/or Hospital Pharmacy, which is an added value, since not only it allows us a better insight of other areas in which a Master in Pharmaceutical Sciences is inserted and the different responsibilities and functions that he can perform, but also the opportunity to have a more practical sense of what has been given during the course and to acquire new knowledges. Since the beginning of the course, the pharmaceutical industry was one of the areas that more caught my attention, wherefore, I always had an interest in knowing, in a more practical context, what envolves, the dynamics, the daily life of those who work in a pharmaceutical industry, the different departments in which it is organized, the various functions and responsibilities and in which a Master in Pharmaceutical Sciences is inserted. Therefore, in addition to the internship in Community Pharmacy, I also decided to do an internship in the Pharmaceutical Industry. I had the opportunity to do my internship at Bluepharma which, being an enterprising, and innovative pharmaceutical industry and whose activity covers the whole life cycle of the drug, it was very enriching, which took place in the Department of Regulatory Affairs. The Internship in Community Pharmacy allows contact with the pharmacist's role in the population, as a public health agent and as a medicine specialist, as well as a better understanding of its importance and impact. In this context, I chose to do my internship at the Farmácia São Martinho, in Coimbra, where I was so well received and where I learned a lot from professionals who practice their profession with focus on the patient. In this report I do a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) analysis of my internship at Farmácia São Martinho.Abstract - Monograph " Nanotechnology Applied to Regenerative Therapy and Regulatory Framework"Understanding the importance of extracellular matrix in regulating cell behavior, advances in stem cell studies and the application of nanotechnology to regenerative medicine and tissue engineering have enhanced the development of regenerative therapies. Stem cells have the ability to self-renew and differentiate into different types of specialized cell lineages, showing promise in restoring normal functioning and regenerating body tissues. Nanotechnology has allowed the development of different nanomaterials to create supports for stem cell culture, which seek to mimic the extracellular matrix and control the fate of stem cells in order to direct their growth, proliferation and differentiation in specific tissues. In the present monograph is made a survey of some nanomaterials that show promise for application in regenerative therapies, in order to address their potential and the advances in studies that have been conducted. In the second part of the monograph is made a regulatory framework, in the European Medicines Agency and the Food and Drug Administration, of these regenerative therapies that combine cell therapy with support materials capable of controlling cellular behavior.
