Mobilidade Territorial numa Cidade Cittaslow: Caso especifico: Vizela

Abstract

Um dos grandes desafios das sociedades atuais é o desenvolvimento com sustentabilidade, seja a nível económico, social e/ou ambiental. O tecido urbano das cidades é um sistema vasto e complexo de várias variáveis, que no seu todo definem a forma, o ambiente e o modo de vida das populações que nele habitam.O presente relatório de investigação procura identificar e compreender como algumas das características existentes nas unidades territoriais a nível concelho podem configurar-se como fatores atrativos ou repulsivos de população para esses territórios, condicionando a evolução do concelho de Vizela. O Movimento Internacional Cittaslow, associado à afirmação de novas temporalidades e às novas espacialidades, é considerado como uma das mais revolucionárias propostas de desenvolvimento urbano sustentável. A rede internacional Cittaslow (ou slow city), constitui uma abordagem alternativa para o desenvolvimento urbano sustentável de cidades de pequena e média dimensão, pelo que o seu objetivo é melhorar a qualidade de vida dos cidadãos locais, garantindo o bem-estar dos seus visitantes. Um dos maiores desafios das Cittaslow é o despovoamento, (a tendência de abandonar um lugar, com a deslocação da população para cidades de maior dimensão ou até mesmo emigrar para outros países), pois um dos objetivos desse projeto é a fixação da população no território local. O concelho de Vizela faz parte da rede mundial designada de Cittaslow, (cidade do bom-viver), tendo como um dos objetivos a fixação da população. Tendo como propósito a medição de alguns fatores determinantes na capacidade de atracão e repulsão de população e sua importância para o crescimento económico, irá ser estudado o município de Vizela, com especial foco a mobilidade populacional e o projeto Cittaslow como uma estratégia de combate ao despovoamento. A análise do concelho, tendo em linha de conta a atração / repulse da população, permitindo perceber a fase de emigração que se tem vindo a assistir, e a sua consequente importância para essa mesma emigração.

One of the great challenges of today's societies is the development with sustainability, be it economic, social and / or environmental. The urban fabric of cities is a vast and complex system of several variables, which in their entirety define the form, environment and way of life of the populations inhabiting it.The present investigation report aims to the identification e comprehension of some existing characteristics in the territorial units at a municipal level that can be set up as attractive or repulsive population factors for those same territories, conditioning the evolution of the Vizela’s county.The Cittaslow International Movement, associated with the affirmation of new temporalities and new spatialities, is considered as one of the most revolutionary proposals for sustainable urban development. The international Cittaslow (or slow city) network is an alternative approach to the sustainable urban development of small and medium-sized cities, so its aim is to improve the quality of life of local citizens by ensuring the well-being of their visitors . One of the biggest challenges of Cittaslow is depopulation, (the tendency to leave a place, with the displacement of the population to bigger cities or even to emigrate to other countries), since one of the objectives of this project is the fixation of the population in the territory local.Vizela’s county is part of a global network called Cittaslow (well living city), where one of its main goals is the population settlement.With the purpose of measuring determinants of the attractiveness and repulsion of the population and its importance for economic growth, the municipality of Vizela will be studied, with a special focus on population mobility and the Cittaslow project as one of the strategies to fight depopulation. The analysis of the county allows us to understand the emigration phase happening e what is implying that same behavior.
