Title: | Síndrome hepatorrenal | Authors: | Aguiar, Vanessa Filipa Melo Chaves da Silva | Orientador: | Alves, Rui Manuel Baptista Romãozinho, Catarina Pinto da Rocha de Moura |
A terapêutica definitiva é o transplante hepático.
Hepatorenal syndrome (HRS) is a form of renal failure with high mortality that occurs in patients with advanced liver disease. In this review, based in published data from pubmed in the previous years, several aspects of this syndrome will be focused, like its incidence and prevalence, types of HRS, new markers of renal failure, physiopathology, precipitating factors, prevention, clinical aspects, diagnosis, differential diagnosis and treatment. The underlying physiopathological mechanisms of HRS involve multiple organic systems and their comprehension is important to the development of new therapeutic strategies. There are several precipitating factors that should be avoided and profilatic measures that should be taken, as well as a rigorous control of the underlying hepatic disease. Hepatic transplantation is the only definitive treatment. Despite of that, there are new promising therapies like vasoconstrictors, TIPS and hepatic and renal supportive treatments |
