Abstract: The present document is divided into three distinct parts, each of which is representative of the culmination of the five-year curriculum of Integrated Master in Pharmaceutical Sciences. The first part denotes the internship report in Community Pharmacy, the first curricular internship that I made. This was written in form of a SWOT analysis, highlighting the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of my experience as a trainee in A Minha Farmácia. Likewise, the second part refers to the report on the second internship, which I did in the area of regulatory affairs, in Pharmilab. The third part concerns the monograph entitled "Phytotherapy in Alzheimer's Disease". Alzheimer’s disease is the most common cause of dementia and is one of the main causes of premature death in the population. This disease causes a global deterioration of the brain leading to several progressive and irreversible stages of incapacity, beginning with an initial phase which may even be imperceptible, passing through one where problems are more evident and disabling, and ending in a last one in which the person becomes completely dependent, requiring total care. Even though the physiology of this neurodegenerative disease is not completely understood, it is known that the incapacity comes from the appearance of Neurofibrillary Tangles and Amyloid Plaques that disallow the communication between nerve cells and leads to neurons atrophy. Currently, there is no cure for this pathology, ie there is no treatment that stops the destruction of neurons. There are only medications that can stabilize the people's cognitive functioning, in the mild and moderate phases. Secondary symptoms, such as stress and depression, can be treated to improve the quality of life of patients. Phytotherapy has been pointed out as complementary therapy, and there are indications that plants are capable of helping both in progression of the disease and in improving the quality of life of patients. Unfortunately, there are still few clinical studies in this matter. It is in this sense that I direct this work. Throughout the monograph, it will be briefly discuss the epidemiology and pathophysiology of Alzheimer's disease, as well as some risk factors. Finally, some of the medicinal plants with the greatest potential as complementary or alternative therapy in the fight against the progression of the Alzheimer Disease will be presented, as well as the most relevant constituents of each of them.
