Relatório de Estágio em Farmácia Comunitária e Monografia intitulada "CRISPR até agora..."

Abstract

A importância do papel da Farmácia Comunitária nos cuidados de saúde da comunidade actual é superlativa e nunca deverá ser subestimada, sendo, portanto, o meu objetivo com este estágio testemunhar a maior variedade de situações e a maior heterogeneidade de população possível. Por todas estas razões escolhi ficar numa farmácia em Coimbra, nomeadamente, a Farmácia Central, localizada na Rua da Sofia, na Baixa de Coimbra, sob a orientação da Dr.ª Ana Rico, enquanto diretora técnica. Durante o período do meu estágio pude, efetivamente, não só pôr em prática mas também adquirir muitos novos conhecimentos que com certeza me serão importantes para o futuro.De toda a minha experiência surge este meu relatório, sob a forma de uma análise SWOT, onde espero conseguir fazer transparecer todos os aspetos importantes do meu estágio.O mundo das tecnologias de modificação genética sofreu uma grande evolução nos últimos anos com a descoberta dos Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats (CRISPR) e das suas possibilidades nas áreas da investigação e terapêutica. Originário do sistema imunitário de procariotas esta técnica tem atraído muita atenção ao ser aplicada, com sucesso, na modificação do genoma de eucariotas sob o nome de CRISPR-Cas9. As discussões envolvendo esta técnica têm também sido muitas, pois a sua simplicidade e facilidade de emprego abrem caminhos acompanhados de várias questões que não podem deixar de ser colocadas.Pretendo, com esta monografia, fazer um levantamento geral da evolução do CRISPR, do seu passado, do seu presente e da sua previsão para o futuro.

The relevance of the role of Community Pharmacy in the health care of today's society is superlative and must never be underestimated, my purpose with this internship being, therefore, to witness the largest variety of situations and the greatest heterogeneity of population as possible. For all these reasons I have chosen to stay in a pharmacy in Coimbra, more specifically the Farmácia Central, located in the Rua da Sofia, in Downtown Coimbra under the guidance of Dr. Ana Rico, as Technical Director.For the duration of my intership I was able to, effectively, not only put into practice but also to acquire many new informations which will certanly be very important in the future. From all of my experience comes this report, in the shape of a SWOT analysis, where I hope to be able to transmit all of the important aspects of my intershipThe world of genetic editing technologies as suffered a great evolution in the past few years with the discovery of Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats (CRISPR) and its possibilities in the fields of investigation and therapeutics. Originating from the immune system of prokaryotes this technique has been attracting a lot of attention with its successful application in modifying the genome of eukaryotes under the name of CRISPR-Cas9. Discussions involving this technique have also been many, for its simplicity and ease of use open paths which bring along several questions that can´t be left unspoken.I intend, with this monography, to summarise in a general fashion the evolution of CRISPR, its past, its present and its vision for the future.
