Práticas culturais na Autarquia de Soure: Os vinte anos da Biblioteca Municipal de Soure

Abstract

O presente trabalho corresponde ao relatório de estágio curricular no âmbito do Mestrado em Política Cultural Autárquica. Pretende-se que o mesmo represente algo mais amplo do que um mero relato de atividades desenvolvidas no decorrer do referido estágio curricular.Propõe-se, no plano geral, compreender a evolução da leitura pública e das bibliotecas públicas no contexto português à luz do advento das tecnologias de informação e comunicação e da rápida afirmação da internet enquanto produtora e distribuidora de conteúdos muito diversificados.O foco central do trabalho é o caso específico da Biblioteca Municipal de Soure. Pretende-se analisar, conhecer e compreender se se verificam alterações, e que alterações se verificam, na relação entre a biblioteca municipal e os seus utilizadores, bem como a forma como as atividades e os serviços disponibilizados pela mesma são fruídos, perante o atual panorama de acesso generalizado ao mundo digital.Pretende-se levar a cabo um exercício de levantamento de questões acerca da relação do utilizador e da comunidade não só com a biblioteca municipal, mas também com o livro na sua forma tradicional, considerando os novos hábitos de leitura e os novos suportes de texto.Este trabalho tem, portanto, como principal objetivo traçar uma linha evolutiva que corresponde aos vinte anos nos quais a Biblioteca Municipal de Soure tem vindo a servir a comunidade na qual está inserida e, sobretudo, compreender de que forma se assume como um veículo de acesso à cultura, num contexto no qual se afirmam novos hábitos de leitura e novos veículos de acesso aos conteúdos tradicionalmente disponibilizados pelas bibliotecas públicas.

The following paper is the result of the internship report of the Master’s Degree in Municipal Cultural Policy. It is intended for the following paper to represent something broader than a mere report of activities developed during the course of said internship.The main purpose of this paper is to understand the evolution of public reading and public libraries in the portuguese context, in light of the advent of information and communication technologies and the rapid affirmation of the internet as a producer and distributor of different types of content.The central focus of the present work is the specific case of the Municipal (public) Library of Soure. We aim to analyze, get to know and understand if there are any changes, and what type of changes took place, regarding the relationship between the municipal library, as a cultural instituion, and its users, as well as the way the activities and services provided by the library are taken advantage of, in light of the current generalized access to the digital world.It is intended to carry out an exercise of formulating questions about the user's and community's relationship not only with the already mentioned public library, but also with the book in its traditional form, taking into consideration the new reading habits and the various new text supports.This work has, therefore, as its main purpose, tracing an evolutionary line that corresponds to the twenty years in which the Municipal Library of Soure has been serving its local community and, mainly, to understand in what forms it takes on the role of being a vehicle and a source to access various cultural contents, in a context in which the new reading habits and the new sources that provide access to the type of content traditionally made available by public libraries are, possibly, paving the way for the affirmation of new types of connections with public libraries and the act of reading.
