Migrações internacionais acadêmicas: o contributo geográfico para o estudo sobre os estudantes com nacionalidade e naturalidade estrangeira na Universidade de Coimbra, Portugal

Abstract

A migração é o deslocamento da população pelo espaço geográfico, podendo ser nacional ou internacional, temporária ou permanente, em grupo ou individual. Ou seja, o indivíduo participa do processo de mobilidade por diversos fatores e isso ocorre deste o princípio da humanidade. E devido às transformações econômicas, sociais, políticas, culturais e ideológicas sentidas nas últimas décadas, a migração internacional vem ganhando força, fazendo muitos indivíduos trocarem de país. Atualmente, a migração internacional acadêmica vem ganhado destaque e esse tema tornou-se o estudo deste trabalho, sobretudo, para analisar os inúmeros estudantes que migram para Portugal, em destaque para a Universidade de Coimbra para efetivar seus estudos. O objetivo deste trabalho é verificar as origens, características, motivações, escolhas, dificuldades e facilidades dos estudantes com nacionalidade e naturalidade estrangeira, destacando os estudantes com nacionalidade portuguesa e naturalidade estrangeira e os estudantes com naturalidade portuguesa e nacionalidade estrangeira, matriculados na Universidade de Coimbra, no ano letivo de 2016/2017. A Metodologia utilizada foi quantitativa e qualitativa. Mas primeiramente na parte teórica, tendo em conta a estrutura do trabalho, tratará da recolha de documentação e bibliografia de referência sobre a temática, utilizando variados autores importantes. Na parte prática, trabalhará o estudo de caso dos estudantes com nacionalidade e naturalidade estrangeira, matriculados na Universidade de Coimbra, no ano letivo de 2016/2017, ocorrendo a elaboração de gráficos, tabelas, quadros e mapas utilizando as bases de dados dos estudantes, que foi fornecido pela Universidade de Coimbra, além da elaboração de inquérito aos estudantes estrangeiros, seguido de entrevistas realizados com os coordenadores de faculdade e coordenadora da DRI e entrevistas também realizadas com estudantes de nacionalidade portuguesa e naturalidade estrangeira. Os principais resultados obtidos são que 18,3% dos estudantes da Universidade de Coimbra são de nacionalidade e naturalidade estrangeiras, no total de 5654 estudantes e 101 nacionalidades diferentes, desses estudantes 1195 possuem nacionalidade portuguesa e naturalidade estrangeira e 84 estudantes com naturalidade portuguesa e nacionalidade estrangeira. Dessa forma, conclui-se que pelos dados apresentados ao longo do trabalho, houve um aumento do número de estudantes com nacionalidade e naturalidade estrangeira na Universidade de Coimbra, além também do aumento da diversidade de países que chegaram para aumentar a multiculturalidade nesta renomada instituição de ensino superior em Portugal.

Migration is the displacement of the population by geographical space, being it national or international, temporary or permanent, in a group or individual. That is, the individual participates in the process of mobility by several factors and this occurs from this the principle of humanity. And due to the economic, social, political, cultural and ideological transformations experienced in the last decades, international migration has been gaining strength, causing many individuals to change their country. Nowadays, academic international migration has gained prominence and this theme has become the study of this work, above all, to analyze the numerous students who migrate to Portugal, in particular to the University of Coimbra to carry out their studies. The aim of this study is to verify the origins, characteristics, motivations, choices, difficulties and facilities of students with foreign nationality and naturalness, highlighting students with Portuguese nationality and foreign naturalness and students with Portuguese naturalness and foreign nationality, enrolled in the University of Coimbra, in the academic year 2016/2017. The Methodology used was quantitative and qualitative. But first in the theoretical part, taking into account the structure of the work, will try to collect documentation and reference bibliography on the subject, using several important authors. In the practical part, the case study of students with foreign nationality and naturalness, enrolled at the University of Coimbra, in the academic year 2016/2017, will be working on the elaboration of graphs, tables, charts and maps using the databases of students, which was provided by the University of Coimbra, in addition to the preparation of a survey of foreign students, followed by interviews with the coordinators of the faculty and coordinator of the DRI and interviews with students of Portuguese nationality and foreigners. The main results obtained are that 18.3% of the students of the University of Coimbra are of foreign nationality and naturalness, a total of 5654 students and 101 different nationalities, of these students 1195 have Portuguese nationality and foreign naturalness and 84 students with Portuguese naturalness and nationality foreign. Thus, it is concluded that the data presented during the study showed an increase in the number of students with foreign nationality and naturalness at the University of Coimbra, as well as an increase in the diversity of countries that have come to increase multiculturalism in this renowned institution of higher education in Portugal.
