Title: | Análise experimental de ligações de emenda aparafusadas inovadoras entre perfis de seção tubular | Authors: | Vasconcelos, Bruno Filipe Pereira Aguiar | Orientador: | Alves, Sandra Filomena da Silva Jordão | Keywords: | Ligações aparafusadas; Perfis tubulares | Issue Date: | 27-Jul-2015 | Place of publication or event: | Coimbra | Abstract: | As ligações presentes em estruturas metálicas são elementos que exercem grande influência no
As ligações apresentam
desenvolver numa fase posterior deste estudo.
Connections in steel structures are elements which have great influence in the global behavior of the structure, since they represent critical points where forces are transmitted between the various elements of the steel structure. These connections are ideally conceived to facilitate transport and assembly on site and they are divided into two different groups: welded connections and bolted connections. Due to the high grade of execution requirements of welded connections when they are executed on site, the bolted connections are much more advantageous in those conditions. For this reason, is of great importance to study that type of connections. The current work consists in the experimental study of bolted connections between Circular Hollow Sections (CHS) subjected to axial forces. The connections feature innovative configurations, so they can be seen as an alternative to the traditional non attractive configurations of splice bolted joints in tubes and they are designed with the purpose of not use welding during the assembly at the construction site. The characterization of the connection behavior is done experimentally, by means of tests to failure, including the mechanical characterization of all material used, like plates and bolts. The results obtained from these tests will allow to draw conclusions about the structural performance of the connections and will be used to calibrate numerical models that will be developed in a later phase of investigation. This work follows some previously developed studies (numerical and experimental) and it has as objective the design of a new type of bolted connection between tubular sections, which has simultaneously high structural performance and aesthetical value, when compared with the conventional typology. |
