Social web design - youbeQ user interface

Abstract

O web design é uma área que se encontra em constante evolução, desde os primórdios da própria web. Tendo passado por diversas fases, esta disciplina do design é hoje uma das mais complexas por abranger um variado leque de profissões e diferentes práticas. Por outro lado, com a proliferação da web pelos mais diversos campos sociais e áreas profissionais, tem surgido uma necessidade crescente por uma presença online não só pelos utilizadores, mas também pelas empresas ou serviços que procuram chegar a esses mesmos utilizadores. Não apenas através de websites ou da própria presença nas redes sociais, mas também através da própria identidade visual dos produtos, que permite destacá-lo dos demais produtos concorrentes. Com base nesta premissa, o âmbito deste trabalho insere-se num estágio na empresa iNovmapping, onde o foco principal de trabalho irá recair no desenvolvimento de um website na óptica do utilizador para a vertente mobile do youbeQ. O youbeQ é uma plataforma social que permite a utilizadores de todo o mundo explorarem um mapa virtual em 3D utilizando os mais diversos veículos, e interagirem entre si. A vertente mobile desta plataforma foi separada provisoriamente do youbeQ e apelidada de Joinmymap, sendo sobre esta que todo o trabalho prático irá incidir.

The area of web design is an area that is in constant evolution since the dawn of the web itself. Having gone through several phases, this discipline of design is today one of the most complex because it encompasses a wide range of different professions and practices. Furthermore, with the proliferation of the web through various social fields and professional areas, there has been a growing need for an online presence not only by users but also by businesses or services that seek to reach those same users. Not only through websites and their own presence on social networks, but also through the visual identity of the product, allowing it to stand out from other competitors products. Based on this premise, the scope of this work is part of an internship in the company iNovmapping, where the main focus of work will lie in developing a website in the user’s perspective for the mobile version of youbeQ. YoubeQ is a social platform that allows users from around the world to explore a virtual 3D map using various vehicles, and interact with each other. The mobile version of this platform was provisionally separated from youbeQ and dubbed Joinmymap, and it is on this version that the whole practical work will focus.
