"Pastoreio em Manteigas : transumância no passado e no presente"

Abstract

A realização desta dissertação visa estudar os movimentos migratórios transumantes, praticados no passado e no presente, no Vale Glaciar do Rio Zêzere e no Vale da Castanheira (Manteigas). Procura igualmente traçar uma imagem da actualidade do pastoreio na região. Através de trabalho etnográfico, baseado em entrevistas, procurou-se compreender as dinâmicas das populações ligadas ao pastoreio para melhor entender o fenómeno transumante na região. Esta investigação revela um importante agregado de informação acerca da actividade pastoril e da transumância na periferia da vila de Manteigas.

This dissertation studies the transhumance movements of migrations that took place in the past and are still occurring in the present, in the glacial valley of the Zêzere River and in the Castanheira Valley (municipality of Manteigas). We aim to draw an up to date view of the pasturing of this region. Through ethnographical work, based on interviews, we attempt to become aware of the population dynamics linked to pasturing to better understand the transhumance phenomenon of this region. This investigation reveals important information about pasturing and transhumance activities taking place on the periphery of the town of Manteigas.
