À margem da identidade contributos para a valorização da identidade de Aljustrel, Fátima: espaço público e acessos

Abstract

À margem da identidade, a cidade é palco de constantes transformações desregradas que alteram o seu funcionamento e ameaçam a sua unidade. Como é natural, no caso de Aljustrel, as infraestruturas e o espaço público desempenham um papel central na estruturação do esqueleto urbano. Para além de servirem a população residente, estes eixos tentam suportar a pressão turística que, após 1917, irrompeu pelo território e contribuiu direta e indiretamente para a sua indefinição espacial. Este trabalho tem como objetivo a apresentação de propostas de intervenção, com base no estudo do espaço público e vias de acesso a Aljustrel, uma aldeia de Fátima, situada no concelho de Ourém. Como ponto de partida pretende compreender-se as dinâmicas desta aldeia rural de projeção turístico-religiosa internacional e entender como estas dinâmicas influenciam o espaço público e viceversa. A requalificação dos eixos que estruturam Aljustrel e das vias de acesso a esta aldeia é a ideia chave deste projeto. Neste sentido, pretende estudar-se formas de intervir no espaço público, preconizando um ritmo de crescimento mais equilibrado e sustentado, visando a transformação deste núcleo urbano ambíguo num lugar identitário, feito de pessoas para pessoas e onde o percurso é tanto ou mais importante que o destino que o serve.

On the sidelines of identity, the city is the stage for constant disorderly changes that alter its functioning and threaten its unity. Of course, in the case of Aljustrel, infrastructure and public space play a central role in structuring the urban skeleton. In addition to serving the resident population, these axes try to support the pressures of tourism that, after 1917, burst into the territory and contributed directly and indirectly to their spatial blurring. This paper aims to present intervention proposals, based on the study of public space and access roads to Aljustrel, a village of Fatima, located in the municipality of Ourém. As a starting point I aim to understand the dynamics of this rural village of international tourist-religious projection and understand how these dynamics influence the public space and vice versa. The requalification of the structuring axes of Aljustrel and the access routes to this village is the key idea of this project. Therefore, I intend to study ways of intervening in public space, advocating a more balanced and sustained growth rate, in order to transform this ambiguous urban core in an identitarian place, made from people to people and where the route is as much or even more important than the destination that it leads to.
