Gravidez na adolescência em Angola: estudo do funcionamento familiar e satisfação com a vida

Abstract

A gravidez na adolescência é considerada aquela que ocorre até antes dos 20 anos da adolescente. O presente estudo centra-se sobre a gravidez na adolescência em contexto angolano, tendo como objetivo fundamental analisar e caracterizar o perfil de futuros pais e mães adolescentes em Angola, bem como comparar o funcionamento familiar e a satisfação com a vida em adolescentes grávidas e não grávidas. Contou com uma amostra de 100 adolescentes, sendo 50 grávidas (ADG) e 50 não grávidas (ADNG), residentes na província de Benguela. A avaliação do funcionamento familiar foi efetuada com recurso ao SCORE-15 e a análise do nível de satisfação com a vida com a SWLS. Os resultados apontam para uma diferença não significativa no que ao funcionamento familiar diz respeito entre as ADG e ADNG, havendo uma diferença estatisticamente significativa na satisfação com a vida, com as ADNG a revelarem-se mais satisfeitas com a sua vida do que as ADG. Analisados alguns possíveis fatores de risco para a gravidez precoce, encontraram-se diferenças estatisticamente significativas entre os dois grupos de adolescentes nas variáveis computador, internet, abandono escolar, número de reprovações, conhecimento de contraceptivos, e definição do projeto de vida. Contudo, apesar das potencialidades deste estudo, o mesmo representa apenas um contributo no aprofundamento e compreensão da temática da gravidez na adolescência, mais especificamente em contexto Angolano.

The pregnancy in adolescence happens before the 20 years of the adolescent. The present study focuses on the pregnancy in adolescence, in Angolan context, and aims to analyze and to characterize the profile of futures adolescents’ fathers and mothers in Angola, as well as to compare the family functioning and the satisfaction with life in pregnant and non pregnant adolescents. A sample of 100 adolescents was used, with 50 pregnant (ADG) and 50 non pregnant (ADNG), resident in the province of Benguela. The assessment of the family functioning was made with resource to the SCORE-15 and the analysis of the level of satisfaction with life with the SWLS. The results indicate for a non significant difference for what respects family functioning between ADG and ADNG, with a statistical significant difference when the subject is the satisfaction with life, with the ADNG being more satisfied with her life compared to the ADG. Analyzing some probable risk factors for the early pregnancy, significant differences were found for the variables computer, internet, school dropout, school reprobation, contraceptive knowledge and life project. However, in spite of the potentialities of this study, it just represents a contribute to expand and better understand the subject of pregnancy in the adolescence, specifically in Angola.
