Vista Alegre: visão estratégica para um desenvolvimento integrado

Abstract

O complexo industrial da Vista Alegre é um exemplo pioneiro de um bairro operário associado a uma indústria em Portugal que teve um papel importante no desenvolvimento económico e social de Ílhavo. Contudo, a pouco anos do seu centenário a Vista Alegre e todo o complexo que a compõe encontra-se degradado e segregado. O presente estudo ensaia a integração da Vista Alegre no desenvolvimento local e regional, valorizando o seu património arquitectónico, cultural e natural.Com efeito, este ensaio apresenta os termos de referência de um plano estratégico na forma de um conjunto de ações que tiram partido das características do lugar em prol do desenvolvimento económico e cultural da Vista Alegre e de Ílhavo.

The industrial complex of Vista Alegre is, undoubtedly, a pioneering example of a working neighbourhood connected to a big industry in Portugal, which always had a Significant role in the economic and social development of Ílhavo as a town. However, a few years far from its 100th birthday, Vista Alegre and its huge complex seems a bit segregated as well as degraded.

This study aims the integration of Vista Alegre in both local and regional development, valuing its architectural, cultural and natural heritage. In fact, this study portrays the referential terms for a strategic plan in the shape of a setting of performances that can profit from the characteristics of the place itself, towards the continuing economic and cultural growth of Vista Alegre and Ílhavo.
