As representações sociais de africanos sobre a discriminação no contexto laboral e social português

Abstract

O presente estudo, tem por objectivo, analisar as representações sociais dos africanos residentes em Portugal. Esta análise terá em conta o contexto laboral, sendo que se tentará perceber se a discriminação racial contra os africanos continua a ter um papel activo. Pretende-se, deste modo, perceber qual o impacto que esta possível discriminação tem na vida dos 16 africanos que foram entrevistados. Os resultados indicam a existência da proliferação de “novas formas de racismo” e continuam a descrever um cenário menos positivo para um país, que foi considerado o primeiro em termos de políticas de integração, pelo relatório elaborado pela ONU em 2009 (Relatório de Desenvolvimento Humano, 2009, p. 39). Para além disso, os conceitos de lusofonia, luso-tropicalismo e nacionalismo terão particular relevo neste estudo.

The objective of the present study is to analise the social representations of the african people living in Portugal. This analysis will concern the labor portuguese context. More specifically, we want to understand how active is racial discrimination and what is the impact in the 16 africans that had been intervewed. The results suggest that new forms of racism are rising and it descrives a less positive scenario to a country that according to the UN report in 2009, indicated Portugal as the number one country in terms of integration policies (Human Development Report, 2009, p.38). Moreover, the concepts of lusophony, luso-tropicalism and nationalism will have an important role in this study.
