Eco-Resort no Anticlinal de Estremoz Potenciar Patrimónios

Abstract

This dissertation aims to address to the problems resulting from extractive activity in the Estremoz Anticline, in the Alentejo. The imbalance in the landscape is due to the large number of active and inactive quarries and heaps. The waste of natural resources can be seen in the deposits of unused marble and in the water of the wells, resulting from the drilling of underground water basins. The project proposes the dynamization of the Estremoz Anticline, enhancing its heritage and the landscape resulting from the extraction activity.Initially, the proposal involves a Masterplan that aims to unify the territory, considering the relationship between the extraction areas, the urban centers and the natural space. Later, as the main theme, the work focuses on the design of an Eco-Resort that aims to revitalize an inactive quarry and, in this way, boost the region in cultural, social and economic terms. .............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

A presente dissertação pretende dar resposta às problemáticas resultantes da atividade extrativa no Anticlinal de Estremoz, no Alentejo. O desiquilíbrio na paisagem deve-se ao grande número de pedreiras ativas, inativas e escombreiras. O desperdício dos recursos maturais é visível nos depósitos de mármore não utilizado e na água existente nos poços, resultante da perfuração das bacias hídricas subterrâneas. O projeto propõe a dinamização do Anticlinal de Estremoz potenciando o seu património, e a paisagem resultante da atividade de extração.Numa primeira fase, a proposta desenvolve um Masterplan que pretende unificar o território, considerando a relação entre as áreas de extração, os núcleos urbanos e o espaço natural. Posteriormente, como tema principal, o trabalho centra-se no projeto de um Eco-Resort que pretende revitalizar uma pedreira inativa e, desta forma, dinamizar a região em termos culturais, sociais e económicos. .................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
