O “DEVER” DO PENSAR FILOSÓFICO FACE AO DESAFIO TECNOLÓGICO:LEITURAS DE HANS JONAS

Abstract

The objective of this dissertation is the study and reflection on the issue of the era in which we live, as explored by Hans Jonas in "The Imperative of Responsibility: In Search of an Ethics for the Technological Age" (1979). Jonas makes modern technology - its objects, its methods, and its characteristics - the subject of his ethics, and step by step, he introduces us to the "novum" of the technological age: another human, another way of acting, a new world, and a new era. Jonas draws an analogy between current technical action and an unchained titan; through the testimony of contemporary thinkers, this incredible comparison does not sound unreasonable. The "homo faber," this new human who has just arrived, has taken power into his own hands and intends to remake human beings and the natural environment. His extraordinary power, autonomous and self-propelling, in its accumulative nature, not content with modifying its origin to the point of disfigurement, can even destroy the fundamental condition of its own sequence, the presupposition of itself. In contrast to the undeniable success - and extraordinary power - of scientific knowledge in natural science in its siamese relationship with modern technology, there is the counterbalance of philosophical scientific knowledge - a new ethics. Jonas moves from the discipline of action (ethics) to the discipline of existence (metaphysics) - an ethics of the future for the technological civilization.The research will be multidisciplinary. We count on the intellectual and technical contributions of recognized representatives from anthropology, sociology, and contemporary thinkers.

O objetivo deste trabalho de dissertação é o estudo e a reflexão sobre a problemática da era em que vivemos, feita por Hans Jonas em O Princípio Responsabilidade, Ensaio de uma ética para a civilização tecnológica (1979). Jonas faz da técnica moderna – seus objetos, seu método e características – objeto de sua ética e, num passo a passo, nos dá a conhecer o “novum” da era tecnológica: um outro humano, um outro agir, um novo mundo e uma nova época. Jonas faz uma analogia do agir técnico atual com um titã desacorrentado; pelo testemunho de pensadores da atualidade, a incrível comparação não soa como desarrazoada. O homo faber, este novo homem que acaba de chegar, tomou o poder nas próprias mãos e se propõe a refabricar o ser humano e a natureza ambiente. Seu exorbitante poder, autônomo e autopropulsor, em seu caráter acumulativo, não contente em modificar o seu início até a desfiguração, pode até mesmo destruir a condição fundamental de toda a sequência, o pressuposto de si mesma. Ao incontestável sucesso – e exorbitante poder – do saber científico da Ciência Natural em sua relação siamesa com a técnica moderna, o contrapeso do saber científico filosófico – uma nova ética. Jonas avança da disciplina do agir (ética) para a disciplina do existir (metafísica) – uma ética do futuro para a civilização tecnológica. A pesquisa será multidisciplinar. Contamos com as colaborações, intelectual e técnica, de reconhecidos representantes da antropologia, da sociologia e de pensadores da atualidade.
