Lugares de memória e violência: os conceitos dark como possibilidade de compreensão da fascinação pelo mórbido.

Abstract

O artigo analisa a relevância da história oral como parte do patrimônio imaterial e propõe uma reflexão sobre o racismo no Brasil através dos conceitos teóricos dark heritage e dark tourism destacando a importância das memórias para a construção da história e da identidade cultural. O período estudado situa-se entre o século dezenove e o século vinte, na cidade de Campinas, e a abordagem da história oral aspira complementar as informações existentes nas fontes oficiais, trazendo novas perspectivas sobre o passado. Este trabalho se concentra em dar voz às experiências e memórias de pessoas comuns, que geral- mente não são consideradas relevantes na história oficial, assim como promover uma ponderação sobre a importância de preservar lugares e memórias, marcados pela dor e pelo desconforto, a fim de resgatar a história e construir uma identidade cultural mais completa e diversificada

The article analyses the relevance of oral history as part of intangible heritage and proposes a reflection on racism in Brazil through the theoretical concepts’ dark heritage and dark tourism, highlighting the importance of these memories to the construction of history and cultural identity. The study focuses on the period between the 19th and 20th centuries in the city of Campinas, and the approach of oral history aims to complement the existing information found in official sources, bringing new perspectives on the past. This work focuses on the need to give voice to the experiences and memories of ordinary people, who are often overlooked in official historical accounts, and also prompts a reflection on the significance of preserving places and memories, that bear the marks of pain and discomfort, to recover lost history and foster a more comprehensive and diverse cultural identity.
