Fatores Críticos De Sucesso Em Projetos Colaborativos Universidade-Indústria

Abstract

This dissertation is the result of an investigation into critical success factors in university-industry collaborative research projects. This work aims to identify the critical success factors in the literature and identify the components/themes underlying the critical success factors. Due to uncertainty and the high failure rate of university-industry collaborative research projects, studies on critical factors have been growing and are expected to have a positive impact on the management of this type of project.The analysis of the existing literature led to the identification of thirty-four critical success factors, as well as the construction of a base to be able to name the components/themes underlying the critical success factors. This investigation, using a positivist approach and a quantitative methodology, analyzed the data collected through a questionnaire that was constructed and executed by a collaboration between ANI (Agência Nacional de Inovação), the University of Coimbra, the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança and the Minho's university. The results of this questionnaire were the subject of an exploratory factor analysis with the objective of discovering how many themes/components could be extracted, and to know which variables (critical success factors) make up these themes/components.Four themes/components underlying the thirty-four critical factors were extracted from the exploratory factor analysis. These components were named taking into account the underlying variables and the literature review.

A presente dissertação resulta de uma investigação sobre fatores críticos de sucesso em projetos de investigação colaborativa universidade-indústria. Este trabalho tem como objetivos identificar os fatores críticos de sucesso na literatura e identificar os componentes/temas subjacentes aos fatores críticos de sucesso. Devido à incerteza e à elevada taxa de insucesso dos projetos de investigação colaborativa universidade-indústria os estudos sobre os fatores críticos têm estado em crescimento e espera-se que tenham um impacto positivo na gestão deste tipo de projetos. A análise da literatura existente levou à identificação de trinta e quatro fatores críticos de sucesso, bem como à construção de uma base para poder nomear os componentes/temas subjacentes aos fatores críticos de sucesso. Esta investigação através de uma abordagem positivista e uma metodologia quantitativa analisou os dados recolhidos por meio de um questionário que foi construído e executado por uma colaboração entre a ANI (Agência Nacional de Inovação), a Universidade de Coimbra, o Instituto Politécnico de Bragança e a Universidade do Minho. Os resultados desse questionário foram alvos de uma análise fatorial exploratória com o objetivo de descobrir quantos temas/componentes se conseguiam extrair, e saber quais as variáveis (fatores críticos de sucesso) que integram esses temas/componentes. Foram extraídos da análise fatorial exploratória quatro temas/componentes subjacentes aos trinta e quatro fatores críticos. Esses componentes foram nomeados tendo em conta as variáveis subjacentes e a revisão de literatura.
