Musealização dos Espaços Fúnebres no Sítio Arqueológico de Tróia Proteção e Exposição dos Zonas de Necrópole

Abstract

O tema da morte é algo transversal a todas as espécies, apesar de tudo, a maneira como este é encarado é imensamente variável de espécie para espécie. Inevitavelmente, nós, humanos, também nos temos de debater sobre ele. Ao longo dos tempos a abordagem a este assunto foi sendo alterada tanto pelas crenças como por fatores alheios a estas, o que levou ao aparecimento de diferentes ritos de “celebração” e, consequentemente, à criação de espaços destinados à sepultura. No sítio arqueológico de Tróia (Grândola, Setúbal) encontram-se alguns exemplares deste tipo de espaços, que datam seguramente desde o século I d.C. até possivelmente ao VI d.C. Até à data, várias foram as zonas de sepultura descobertas nesta área, tais como a Necrópole da Caldeira, a chamada Necrópole do Mausoléu e as Sepulturas de Mesa que se encontram atualmente na área correspondente à basílica Paleocristã e também a Este desta, no seu exterior. De salientar ainda alguns enterramentos mais “isolados” ao longo da costa norte da península, tais como o túmulo de mesa com um fresco de duas cruzes latinas na cabeceira, o túmulo da Ponta do Verde, e ainda a sepultura de Galla da qual não se sabe a localização. Pretende-se com este trabalho, através do projeto de arquitetura, musealizar alguns dos diferentes espaços de necrópole que aqui se encontram, entendê-los de uma maneira mais próxima, a partir da sua história e compreender a sua verdadeira essência, com o objetivo de permitir e garantir uma visita interpretativa com o máximo de fidelidade, sem deturpar a atmosfera destes lugares, assegurando, assim, em simultâneo a sua proteção e preservação.

The subject of death is something transversal to all species, despite everything, the way it is faced is immensely variable from species to species. Inevitably, we humans also have to debate over it. Across History, the approach to this subject has been changed both by beliefs and by factors unrelated to these, which led to the appearance of different rites of “celebration” and, consequently, to the creation of spaces destinated for burial. At the archaeological site of Tróia (Grândola, Setúbal) there are some examples of this type of space, which certainly date back to the 1st century AD. until possibly the 6th century AD. To date, several burial areas have been discovered in this area, such as the Necropolis of the Caldeira, the so-called Necropolis of the Mausoleum, and the Graves of Mesa that are currently in the area corresponding to the Paleochristian basilica and also to the east of it, on the outside. It is also worth noting a few “isolated” burials along the north coast of the peninsula, such as the mensae tomb with a fresco of two Latin crosses at the head, the tomb of Ponta doe Verde, and also the tomb of Galla, in which the location is not known. It is intended with this work, through the architectural project, to musealize some of the different necropolis areas that are found here, to understand them in a closer way, through their history and understanding their true essence, with the purpose of allowing and guaranteeing an interpretive visit with the maximum of fidelity, without distorting the atmosphere of these places, thus ensuring, at the same time, its protection and preservation.
