Assim sendo, o uso de fitoterápicos para o alívio da sintomatologia associada à quimioterapia é um campo que desperta interesse tanto para profissionais como para doentes, estando a sua viabilidade condicionada pela fragilidade do doente oncológico e pelas interações dos fitoconstituintes.O crescente número de casos oncológicos constitui uma preocupação para a sociedade, sendo que com o avançar da terapêutica e a diminuição da mortalidade, o ponto fulcral da mesma seja o prolongamento da vida, mas também o aumento da qualidade de vida do doente oncológico. dc.description.abstractThe increasing number of oncological cases is a concern for society, so, with the advancement of therapy and the decrease in mortality, the focal point of it is the prolongation of life, but also the increase in the quality of life of the cancer patient. Some of the drugs used in chemotherapy had their origins in plantas, so, with the advancement of therapeutics into complementary fields, it is intuitive to include phytotherapy as one of the options. Therefore, the use of herbal medicines for the relief of symptoms associated with chemotherapy is a field that arouses interest both for professionals and for patients, but its viability is conditioned by the fragility of the cancer patient and by the phytoconstituents interactions. The increasing number of oncological cases is a concern for society, so, with the advancement of therapy and the decrease in mortality, the focal point of it is the prolongation of life, but also the increase in the quality of life of the cancer patient. Some of the drugs used in chemotherapy had their origins in plantas, so, with the advancement of therapeutics into complementary fields, it is intuitive to include phytotherapy as one of the options.
